College for Creative Studies (CCS) is a private art school in Detroit, Michigan. It enrolls more than 1,400 students and focuses on arts education. The college is also active in offering art education to children through its Community Arts Partnerships program and its Henry Ford Academy: School for Creative Studies. [1]

The college is authorized by the Michigan Education Department to grant bachelor's and master's degrees, and by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design and the Higher Learning Commission. [2]

Douglas Fredrick Gaffka is an American automotive designer who is best known for his work as the chief designer for the Taurus and Sable vehicle programs in 1994 and the Mustang in 1999. Since April 2001, Gaffka has been the design director of Ford Motor Company's Living Legends vehicle program, in which he oversees the development of classic Ford nameplates, like the Thunderbird and Mustang, as well as new vehicle design.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Warren Lehrer</span>

Warren Lehrer is an American author and artist/designer known mostly for his highly visual books and multimedia projects. Lehrer came to prominence in the 1980s and 90s for his attempts at capturing the shape of thought and speech on the printed page in his books and performance scores characterized by polyvalent narratives and expressionistic typography. Since then he’s authored and co-authored works of non-fiction, fiction, and poetry that also marry writing, typography and image. His illuminated novel, A Life in Books: The Rise and Fall of Bleu Mobley contains 101 books within it, including cover designs and excerpts that read like short stories. In November 2019, Lehrer received the Lifetime Achievement Ladislav Sutner Prize in Czech Republic for "his pioneering work in Visual Literature and Design". Named after the Czech-American design pioneer, the annual award "recognizes individual artists from around the world of outstanding performance in the field of fine arts, especially applied arts and design". In 2016, he was honored by the Center for Book Arts for his contributions to the field of book arts.

Arthur M. Fitzpatrick was an American art director widely known for his automotive art and advertising illustrations. Fitz, as he was often called, was noted for his work was on the Pontiac "wide-track" campaign from 1959-1972, working with Van Kaufman. Fitzpatrick had several careers over eight decades, including automobile designing, art director and stamp designer. Near the end of his career, he designed two series of automobile stamps for the U.S. Postal Service, released in 2005 and 2008.

Lillian Wolock Elliott (1930–1994) was an American fiber artist, and textile designer. She is known for her innovative basket craft.
