As the world's traditional automotive center, Detroit, Michigan, is an important source for business news. Detroit is home to owned-and-operated stations of CBS, Fox, and Daystar and two station duopolies owned by Paramount Global and E.W. Scripps Company.

Most of Metro Detroit receives stations from adjacent Windsor, Ontario, most notably, CBC Television owned-and-operated station CBET-DT. Conversely, multiple television stations in Detroit enjoy Canadian viewership and consider the market as part of their primary audience.
WJR is a commercial radio station in Detroit, Michigan, owned by Cumulus Media, with a news/talk radio format. Most of WJR's broadcast studios, along with its newsroom and offices, are in the Fisher Building in Detroit's New Center area. A tower atop the Fisher Building relays WJR's audio to the transmitter site, and at one time WJR-FM also used this tower. There is an additional satellite studio in the Wintergarden of the GM Renaissance Center in downtown Detroit.
CBEW-FM is the call sign of the CBC Radio One station based in and serving Windsor, Ontario, Canada.
