Zhang Zizhong was a general of the Chinese National Revolutionary Army (NRA) during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Born in Linqing, Shandong, he was the highest-ranked officer and the only Army group commander of the NRA to die in the war. He was killed-in-action during the Battle of Yichang after refusing to retreat from the front lines. He showed great valor in the field and was regarded as one of the most valiant and respectable Chinese generals by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Because he was lieutenant general with the effective rank of full general at the time of his death, and was posthumously promoted to full general, he was also one of the highest-ranked Allied officers killed in action in World War II. His mausoleum is situated in Beibei District, Chongqing. There are roads named after him in Shanghai, Beijing, Tianjin and Wuhan.
Chiang Wei-kuo, also known as Wego Chiang, was the adopted son of Republic of China President Chiang Kai-shek, the adoptive brother of President Chiang Ching-kuo, a retired Army general, and an important figure in the Kuomintang. His courtesy names were Jian'gao (建鎬) and Niantang (念堂). Chiang served in the Wehrmacht before fighting in the Second Sino-Japanese War and Chinese Civil War.
The Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of China is the ministry of the Republic of China (Taiwan) responsible for all defense and military affairs of Taiwan and surrounding area. The MND is headed by Minister Chiu Kuo-cheng.
The Taiwan Garrison Command was a secret police/national security body which existed under the Republic of China Armed Forces on Taiwan. The agency was established at the end of World War II, and operated throughout the Cold War. It was disbanded on 1 August 1992.
Rong Zhen (1891–1960) was a military commander in the Republic of China. He belonged to the Fengtian clique, but eventually participated in the Wang Jingwei regime. He was born in Zaoqiang, Zhili (Hebei).
He Fenglin was a general in the Republic of China. He belonged to the Anhui clique and the Fengtian clique.
Hu Yukun was a military leader in the Republic of China. He belonged to the Fengtian clique, and was Zhang Xueliang's confidant. Eventually he became an important commander during the Wang Jingwei regime. His courtesy name was Lingchen (凌塵). He was born in Haicheng, area of control of the General of Shengjing.
The 1987 Lieyu massacre occurred on 7 March 1987 at Donggang Bay, Lieyu Island, Kinmen, Fujian, Republic of China (ROC). ROC military officially denied the massacre and defined it as an incident of "mistaken killings" (誤殺事件), hence named it the March 7 Incident (三七事件) or Donggang Incident (東崗事件). There may have been more than nineteen deaths, including several families of ethnic Chinese Vietnamese.

Liu Yuejun is a general (shangjiang) of the People's Liberation Army (PLA) of China who served as commander of the Eastern Theater Command from 2016 to 2019.
The Chief of Staff of the People's Liberation Army Navy is the third highest-ranking officer in the People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN). The Chief of Staff is the head of the Naval Forces Military Command authorities and responsible to assist the military officer in the navy command.
Chiu Kuo-cheng is a Taiwanese politician and retired general of the ROC Army. He is the current Minister of National Defense. He was the Director-General of the National Security Bureau from 24 July 2019 to 22 February 2021, and the Chief of General Staff of the Republic of China Armed Forces from 1 December 2016 to 28 April 2017, and a former Vice Minister of National Defense for Armaments.
Niu Zhizhong a former officer in the People's Armed Police of China. At the height of his career, he served as deputy commander of the People's Armed Police. He was an alternate member of the 18th CPC Central Committee. He was expelled from the Communist Party in 2016.
Li Qiaoming is a general of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA), currently serving as commander of the PLA Ground Force. He served as commander of the Northern Theater Command from September 2017 to September 2022.

Yang Guoping is a general in the People's Armed Police of China who served as its commander from 1996 to 1999. He was a member of the 15th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party.
Hsu Yen-pu is a Republic of China Army general. Since 1 May 2023, he is the current Vice Minister of the Ministry of National Defense. Hsu previously served as the Commander of the Republic of China Army from 2021 to 2023. He also served as the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Republic of China Armed Forces from 2020 to 2021.
