"Company" is a song by American singer Tinashe for Nightride . The single was released by RCA Records on September 16, 2016. The song was written and produced by American R&B producer The-Dream. The song follows her previous single "Superlove", released on July 15, 2016. [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] The song's official video was met with acclaim, with Billboard calling it "choreographic perfection". On September 15, Tinashe performed the song, alongside "Superlove", on MTV's Wonderland program. [7]

Critical reception

Danny Schwartz of HotNewHipHop described the song as if Tinashe were "taking applicants for a no-strings-attached situation that literally millions of young men would be more than happy to fill". However, Schwartz continued that "despite her lack of a companion", the sexual tension on the track was described as "somehow through the roof". [8]

Aquarius is the debut studio album by American singer Tinashe, released on October 3, 2014, by RCA Records. In 2011, after the disbandment of the girl group The Stunners, Tinashe announced that she would begin pursuing a solo career. The following year she released her debut mixtape In Case We Die. After raising her profile with the mixtape, Tinashe met with RCA Records where she subsequently signed a recording contract. Following her signing a record deal, Tinashe immediately began working on the album. During the recording process for the debut album, she released two other mixtapes, Reverie (2012) and Black Water (2013).

Tinashe's debut album, Aquarius, was released on October 7, 2014. It debuted in the top 20 on the Billboard 200, and peaked within the top ten of the US, UK and Australian urban albums charts. Aquarius was supported by three singles. The lead single from the album was titled "2 On", and featured rapper ScHoolboy Q. "2 On" peaked at 24 on the Billboard Hot 100, and topped the US rhythmic chart. "2 On" also reached the top 30 in Australia, and entered the charts in Canada, France and the UK.
