Copy/Paste is a compilation album by Scottish-American rock band Garbage released on November 29, 2024, as part of Record Store Day's Black Friday event. [1] The album features covers of ten classic songs, including a previously unreleased track, "Love My Way". [2] [3] An abridged version of the album was released digitally on December 6.
Copy/Paste was first hinted at on September 29, 2024, when Garbage teased the album on their Instagram stories. The official announcement followed on October 2, 2024, as part of the Record Store Day Black Friday lineup. [4] [5] [6]
Curated by Garbage, Copy/Paste features cover versions of ten classic songs originally performed by influential artists such as David Bowie, Ramones, Patti Smith, U2, Big Star, The Jam, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Psychedelic Furs, The Velvet Underground, Tim Buckley and This Mortal Coil. While most of the tracks have appeared on previous releases, "Love My Way" is a new addition, being previously unreleased. [2] [3]
Artwork was created by Marcin Pospiech, who had previously made the visualizer for "Song to the Siren".
"Butterfly Collector", originally released as a b-side to the "Queer" CD single (1995), was then remastered and included in the 2015 deluxe edition of Garbage . "Thirteen" was the b-side to the "Push It" single in 1998 and was also included in the 2018 reissue of Version 2.0 . "Candy Says" was released as b-side to the "Breaking Up the Girl" single in 2002 and included in the reissue of Beautiful Garbage in 2021. "I Just Want to Have Something to Do", recorded in 2002, was first released on We're A Happy Family: A Tribute to Ramones ; it was then utilised as b-side to the "Why Do You Love Me" single in 2005 and featured on the 2024 remastered reissue of Bleed Like Me .
"Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses", originally recorded for the AHK-toong BAY-bi Covered compilation in 2011, is one of two tracks on Copy/Paste that hasn’t previously appeared on a Garbage release. "Because the Night", "Starman", "Cities in Dust", and "Song To the Siren" were released as part of Record Store Day exclusives between 2013 and 2024. The first two tracks were also included in the deluxe edition of Garbage’s seventh album, No Gods No Masters .

Other Garbage covers were left off from this compilation, namely: "Kick My Ass", "Can't Seem to Make You Mine", "Wild Horses", "Pride (In the Name of Love)" and "Where Do the Children Play?". However, in multiple instances the band referred to Copy/Paste as the "Volume 1", alluding to the fact there would be other cover collections in the future. [7] [8] [9]
Copy/Paste is a Record Store Day exclusive, pressed on coloured vinyl and limited to 3,200 copies in the United States. [2] On November 30, the band anticipated on their social media that it would be unlikely to release the record digitally in its entirety due to issues with their distribution company in the United States. [10] On December 3, a digital edition titled copy/paste, vol 1. (abridged) was announced for a release due on December 6. [11] The digital EP contains only the six tracks released after the band's 2005–2009 hiatus.

Lest We Forget: The Best Of is a greatest hits album by American rock band Marilyn Manson. It was released on September 28, 2004, by Interscope Records. The album was conceived by the band's eponymous vocalist as a "farewell compilation", and was originally going to feature a duet with Shirley Manson of Garbage. Upon its completion, neither singer was satisfied with the duet, and it remains unreleased. Instead, the band recorded a cover of Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" (1989), which became the only new track on the album and was released as a single. The deluxe version of the album included a bonus DVD containing sixteen music videos, one of which was the previously unreleased uncensored version of the music video for "Saint" (2004).
Bleed Like Me is the fourth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released worldwide on April 11, 2005, through Warner Music imprint A&E Records, with a North American release on Geffen Records the following day. For this album, the band chose a straight rock sound reminiscent of their live performances instead of the electronica that permeated their previous album Beautiful Garbage (2001). The first recording sessions took place in March 2003, but were mostly unproductive due to passive aggression between band members and a general lack of direction. As they struggled to record the album, Garbage quietly split for four months starting in October 2003. They reunited under producer John King in Los Angeles and, following a guest appearance by Dave Grohl on "Bad Boyfriend", they found a renewed focus on production. Garbage recruited drummer Matt Walker and bassist Justin Meldal-Johnsen for new recording sessions and completed the album by late 2004.

It was released worldwide on July 23, 2007, through Warner Music imprint A&E Records with a North American release through Almo Sounds, Geffen Records, and Universal Music Enterprises the following day. The compilation was issued while the band was on hiatus following a one-off reformation to perform at a benefit concert early in the year.
Not Your Kind of People is the fifth studio album by American rock band Garbage. It was released on May 11, 2012, through the band's own record label, Stunvolume. The album marks the return of the band after a seven-year hiatus that started with previous album Bleed Like Me. Guitarist Duke Erikson said at the launch of the record that "working with Garbage again was very instinctual. Like getting on a bicycle...with three other people." The band emphasized that they did not want to reinvent themselves, but embrace their sonic identity, reflecting their classic sound whilst updating it for 2012. Although Shirley Manson's morose dispositions have a presence on the record, many of the songs share a more optimistic outlook on life, influenced by some of Manson's personal experiences during their hiatus.

Garbage 2024 is a 2024 headline concert tour by Scottish–American alternative rock band Garbage in support of their seventh studio album No Gods No Masters. Initially, the tour was solely a European tour which included dates in Scotland, Spain, Italy, France, England and Germany. By the conclusion of the European tour, Garbage announced three North American festival dates as an extension to the tour, with dates in Mexico and the United States, however the North American leg was later cancelled after frontwoman Shirley Manson suffered an injury during the tour that would require surgery and rehabilitation as confirmed by the band's official Instagram account.
Lie to Me is an EP by American rock band Garbage. It was released on April 20, 2024, on Record Store Day through BMG/Stunvolume in the United States and UK, and its subsidiary Infectious Music in Europe. The EP includes the two previously unreleased tracks, "Better Not Lie To Me"; and "Revenge and Hurt"; a cover of "Song to the Siren" by Tim Buckley and a new remix of Bleed Like Me track "Bad Boyfriend" featuring Dave Grohl.
Witness to Your Love is an EP released by alternative rock band Garbage for Record Store Day 2023, on April 22.
