Cowies Hill is a small upmarket residential suburb of Pinetown in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Its eponymous hill is a major feature in the Comrades Marathon which is held between Durban and Pietermaritzburg every year.
Cowies Hill was originally established as farm land and was inhabited by the mayor of Pinetown and his family due to its position overlooking Pinetown. It is situated approximately 15 km off the coast line.
Cowies Hill was the site of a farm known as Buffelskop (Buffalo Head) owned by William Cowie in the latter part of the 19th century.

Pinetown Girls' High School is a public school for girls in Josiah Gumede road, Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. It was founded in 1955 as Pinetown High School, a co-educational school, at its current site. On January 1 1978, the boys were split off into Pinetown Boys' High School. The school changed its name to Pinetown Girls' High School, but kept the original school badge and school motto, Fortiter in Omne, which is Latin, and means Bravely Into All Things. The boys' and girls' school are located in close proximity to each other. The two schools also host drama shows annually together, as a joint event.

On September 5, 2013, an articulated truck drove through a red light at high speed, killing 26 people and injuring at least 80, in Pinetown, South Africa. After a light turned green at the junction of Richmond/Josiah Gumede Roads, several vehicles began advancing and were struck side-on moments later by a truck careening down Fields Hill. The driver maintained that the brakes had failed as it descended the notorious hill approaching the intersection. The crash was filmed by the dashcam of a vehicle that had been waiting for the light to turn green. Another angle was also captured on a security camera.
Oregon is an unincorporated community in Manheim Township, Lancaster County, in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania. It is located near the intersection of PA 722 and the Oregon Pike, between Lancaster and Ephrata. Lititz Run passes through the village and joins the Conestoga River by the former Pinetown lumber mill and covered bridge. There are a few dozen houses in the village and a handful of small businesses, not including the surrounding farms. Oregon is served by Red Rose Transit Route 11.
