Cyngen Glodrydd

Last updated

Cyngen Glodrydd was a semi-legendary early sixth century King of Powys.

Cyngen was a descendant of Cadell Ddyrnllwg, probably his son. [1] Cyngen married Tudgild ferch Brychan, resulting in a large family: Brochfael Ysgithrog, Cadell, Ieuaf, Maig Myngfras, Mawn and Sanan. [1]

What is probably his memorial stone was discovered being used as a gatepost in Tywyn, Gwynedd in 1761. He was apparently buried with St. Cadfan in the local churchyard. [2]
