Cyphonia is a genus of treehopper belonging to the subfamily Smiliinae. It contains 33 species. [1]
Pentatomidae is a family of insects belonging to the order Hemiptera, generally called shield bugs or stink bugs. Pentatomidae is the largest family in the superfamily Pentatomoidea, and contains around 900 genera and over 4700 species. As hemipterans, the pentatomids have piercing sucking mouthparts, and most are phytophagous, including several species which are severe pests on agricultural crops. However, some species, particularly in the subfamily Asopinae, are predatory and may be considered beneficial.
The Harpactorinae are a large subfamily of the Reduviidae. About 300 genera and 2,000 species worldwide have been described. Some of the species of the genera Zelus, Pselliopus, Sinea, and Apiomerus are of interest as biological pest control agents.
Harpactorini is a tribe of the Harpactorinae. This group is the most diverse of the entire assassin bug family, with 51 genera recognized in the Neotropical Region and 289 genera and 2003 species overall.
The Reduviinae are a subfamily of the reduviid assassin bugs. Many members of the subfamily are nocturnal and their lifecycles are generally poorly known. This subfamily is suspected not to be monophyletic.
Scutellerinae is a subfamily of shield-backed bugs erected by Leach in 1815.
Dicerca is a genus of beetles in the family Buprestidae. It contains the following species:
Megacyllene is a genus of beetles in the family Cerambycidae, containing the following species:
Epicauta is a genus of beetles in the blister beetle family, Meloidae. The genus was first scientifically described in 1834 by Pierre François Marie Auguste Dejean. Epicauta is distributed nearly worldwide, with species native to all continents except Australia and Antarctica. Surveys have found the genus to be particularly diverse in northern Arizona in the United States. Few species occur in the Arctic, with none farther north than the southern Northwest Territory of Canada.
Pelidnota is a genus of beetles of the family Scarabaeidae.
Smiliinae is a subfamily of treehoppers in the family Membracidae. These are bugs and include about 100 genera in 10 tribes.
Tragopa is a genus of treehoppers. It belongs to the tribe Tragopini in the subfamily Smiliinae. It contains 41 species. It was described by Pierre André Latreille in 1829.
Odontotarsus is a genus of mostly Palaearctic jewel or shield-backed bugs, that is typical of the subfamily Odontotarsinae and tribe Odontotarsini; it was erected by Laporte in 1833. Records of occurrence include southern Africa and mainland Europe. Odontotarsus grammicus is one of the sunn pest species.
Umbonia is a genus of bugs in the family Membracidae. The species can be mainly found in Central America and South America but can also be found in southern Florida. It contains the following species:
Heteronotus is a genus of treehoppers belonging to the subfamily Heteronotinae, of which it is the type genus. It was first described by François Laporte in 1832.
