Cyrtodactylus mombergi, also known commonly as the Indawgyi bent-toed gecko, is a species of lizard in the family Gekkonidae. The species is endemic to Myanmar.
The specific name, mombergi, is in honor of zoologist Frank Momberg for his work in conservation biology and his support of herpetological research in Myanmar. [1]
C. mombergi was described as a species new to science in 2019. It was discovered in Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary. [2]
C. mombergi is found in northern Myanmar, in Kachin State. [1]
The preferred natural habitat of C. mombergi is riverine evergreen forest. [1]
Not a large species for its genus, C. mombergi may attain a snout-to-vent length (SVL) of 7.4 cm (2.9 in). [1]

Cyrtodactylus is a diverse genus of Asian geckos, commonly known as bent-toed geckos, bow-fingered geckos, and forest geckos. The genus has about 300 described species as of 2020, which makes it the largest of all gecko genera. As of 2023, Cyrtodactylus santana is the last known species in its family.
Indawgyi Lake is one of the largest inland lakes in Southeast Asia. It is located in Mohnyin Township in the Kachin State of Myanmar. The lake measures 13 kilometres (8.1 mi) east to west, and 24 kilometres (15 mi) north to south. There are over 20 villages around the lake. The predominant ethnic groups living in the surroundings of the lake are the Shan and the Kachin, who mainly practise agriculture. It is 546 feet (166 m) above sea level. The lake is the main feature of the Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary.
Indawgyi Lake Wildlife Sanctuary is a biosphere reserve in Myanmar, covering 814.99 km2 (314.67 sq mi). It ranges in elevation from 105–1,400 m (344–4,593 ft) encompassing the surroundings of Indawgyi Lake in Mohnyin Township, Kachin State. It was gazetted in 2004, is recognized as an Important Bird Area and as one of the ASEAN Heritage Parks. An area of 478.84 km2 (184.88 sq mi) comprising the lake and the surrounding lowland is a Ramsar site since February 2016.
