Dan Loney (born December 7, 1977) is a former American football offensive lineman who last played for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. Loney attended Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California, where he played competitive football; he continued to play football at Cal Poly, starting for the Mustangs in the late 1990s and blocking for teammates including Kamil Loud, Antonio Warren, and Alli Abrew, among others. [1] Upon graduating, he was not selected in the 2000 NFL draft; as such, he signed with the San Jose SaberCats in early 2001. [2]
Loney spent one year on the SaberCats' practice squad. In 2002, he was promoted to the team's active roster; from 2002 to 2008, he was used primarily as an offensive lineman (though he did see limited action as a defensive lineman). [3] During his time with the SaberCats, Loney appeared in four ArenaBowls (XVI, XVIII, XXI, and XXII); the SaberCats won the first three contests, giving Loney three AFL championships in six years. [4] Following the SaberCats' loss to the Philadelphia Soul in ArenaBowl XXII, the league suspended operations; this ended Loney's first stint with the SaberCats.
After one year, the Arena Football League resumed operations in 2010. The SaberCats, however, did not rejoin the league; as such, Loney spent the season with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. In 2011, the SaberCats finally rejoined the league; Loney rejoined the team for what was to be his final AFL season. [5] He retired following the SaberCats' campaign.
The Chicago Rush are a professional arena football team based in Chicago, Illinois. They are members of the Arena Football League. They are the second Chicago Rush team to play in the league. The original team played at the Allstate Arena from 2001 to 2013. They were a member of the Central Division of the National Conference of the AFL. Founded in 2001, the team qualified for the playoffs 11 out of 12 seasons and won one AFL championship, ArenaBowl XX in 2006. During their history, the Rush won five divisional titles and competed in the AFL Conference Championship six times, including four consecutive appearances from 2004 to 2007. They also had the largest market in the AFL.
The San Jose SaberCats were a professional arena football team based in San Jose, California. The SaberCats had been members of the Arena Football League (AFL) since 1995 ; and until 2015, they belonged to the AFL's National Conference. Over nineteen seasons of play, the SaberCats emerged as one of the Arena Football League's most successful franchises; at the conclusion of the 2015 season, the SaberCats boasted a lifetime regular season record of 198–98. Moreover, the SaberCats had won a total of four AFL Championships. Their lifetime postseason record stood at 19–12.
Mark Richard Grieb is a former Arena football quarterback who spent the majority of his career with the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League (AFL). Grieb currently serves as the head coach of the Sacred Heart Prep Gators football team in Atherton, California. He was a 13-year veteran of the AFL, having played quarterback for the Anaheim Piranhas (1997) and San Jose SaberCats. Grieb also played in NFL Europe for the Scottish Claymores (1998) and in the XFL with the Las Vegas Outlaws (2001). Grieb is the second quarterback in AFL history to throw for over 47,000 yards, over 900 touchdowns, over 3,800 completions, and over 10,000 pass attempts. He officially retired on November 8, 2012. He played college football at University of California, Davis. Grieb passed for 48,080 yards between the Arena League, XFL and NFL Europe.
Atascadero High School is an American public high school located in Atascadero, California. Atascadero High School is 1 of 2 high schools in the Atascadero Unified School District. The school receives its students mainly from the Atascadero Junior High School and Atascadero Fine Arts Academy, and also attracts students from outlying areas of northern and eastern San Luis Obispo County.

He is the co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo, a position he has held since 2024. He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2006. He played college football at Eastern Washington. He was also a member of the Cologne Centurions, Seattle Seahawks. Clevan Nathaniel Thomas is a former American football cornerback. Along with Kenny McEntyre, he is regarded as one of the top defensive backs in Arena Football history. He spent ten of his seasons in the AFL with the SaberCats; over this span, he won four ArenaBowl championships and three Defensive Player of the Year (DPOY) awards. In 2012, Thomas was inducted into the AFL Hall of Fame.

The 2015 San Jose SaberCats season was the team's 19th in San Jose, California. The team was coached by Darren Arbet and played their home games at the SAP Center at San Jose. They finished first in the Pacific Division with a 17–1 regular season record and went on to defeat the Jacksonville Sharks 68–47 in ArenaBowl XXVIII.
Jeff Maddux is a former American football offensive lineman. He played football at Monroe High School in Monroe, Michigan; following his graduation, he attended Central Michigan University from 2006 to 2010. Maddux saw ample playing time during his tenure at Central Michigan; over four seasons with the Chippewas, he started some 47 games as an offensive guard.
Cornelius Dixon is a former American football offensive lineman. He played football at Marianna High School in Marianna, Florida; upon graduation, he enrolled at Missouri Valley College. While at MVC, Dixon was honored as a First Team All-Conference offensive lineman.

Damien Borel is a former American football defensive lineman. He attended Woodland High School and Butte College. In 2012, while at Butte, he tallied 69 tackles and 19 sacks. Borel's 19 sacks led all California Community College Athletic Association players in 2012.

Julius Gant is a former American football lineman who last played for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League (AFL). Gant attended Maynard H. Jackson High School, where he excelled as an offensive lineman; following his departure from the school, he played football at Middle Tennessee State University. At Middle Tennessee State, Gant served primarily as a right tackle; in 2003, his best season, he started eleven games for the team.
