Albin "A. J." Haglund (born July 24, 1983) is a former American football placekicker who played three seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL) with the San Jose SaberCats and Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. He played college football at the University of Central Oklahoma and attended El Reno High School in El Reno, Oklahoma. [1]

College career

Haglund was a four-year starter for the Central Oklahoma Bronchos. He set career records for field goals and extra points at UCO while being named to UCO's All-Century Team. [1] He was also a First Team All-Lone Star Conference North Division selection in 2003 and 2004. [2]

Professional career

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz

Haglund played for the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the af2 in 2006, earning New Balance Kicker of the Year honors. He led all kickers in scoring with 146 points and had the best season for extra point accuracy in af2 history, converting on 93.5 percent (116 of 124) of his point after attempts. [3]

San Jose SaberCats

Haglund signed with the San Jose SaberCats of the AFL on October 9, 2006. [4] He played for the SaberCats from 2007 to 2008. [5] He set the AFL single-season record for extra points made with 128 and led the league with 158 kick points during the 2007 season. [1] [3] Haglund earned Second Team All-Arena and All-Rookie Team honors in 2007. [6] He earned First Team All-Arena and Kicker of the Year honors after leading all kickers in scoring with 179 points in 2008. [3]

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz

Haglund was assigned to the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz of the AFL on March 19, 2010. He left the team on June 28, 2010. [7]

Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz Arena football team

The Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz were an arena football team. The team began play as a 2004 expansion team of the Arena Football League's minor league af2 before becoming a member of the AFL in 2010. Formerly a tenant of the Ford Center from 2004 until 2008, the Yard Dawgz were forced out when the National Basketball Association's Oklahoma City Thunder moved into town; starting in 2009, the Yard Dawgz played across the street at the Cox Convention Center. On October 25, 2010 Yard Dawgz owner Phil Miller announced that he decided not to play in the Arena Football League for the 2011 season.

James Edward Roe II is a former American football wide receiver and coach. He served as the offensive coordinator for the Baltimore Brigade of the Arena Football League (AFL) from 2017–2019. He played for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL) from 1996–1998.

Maurice "Mo" Purify is an American football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He was signed by the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2008. Antonio Demetric Dingle is an American football defensive tackle for the Cape Fear Heroes of the American Arena League (AAL). He played in the National Football League for the Green Bay Packers and the Carolina Panthers. Dingle played collegiately for the University of Virginia before being drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 7th round of the 1999 NFL Draft. Dingle played for the Packers and Panthers in 1999. On March 25, 2002, Dingle signed with the Carolina Cobras. He has also played for the Rochester Brigade, New York Dragons, Tulsa Talons, Quad City Steamwheelers, Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz, Central Valley Coyotes, Florida Firecats, and Fayetteville Force.

Walker also won one ArenaBowl as a player; this came with the Arizona Rattlers in 1997.

Dan Loney is a former American football offensive lineman who last played for the San Jose SaberCats of the Arena Football League. Loney attended Atascadero High School in Atascadero, California, where he played competitive football; he continued to play football at Cal Poly. Upon graduating, he was not selected in the 2000 NFL Draft; as such, he signed with the San Jose SaberCats in early 2001.

Thomas Frevert is an American football placekicker who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Northwest Missouri State. He has been a member of the Kansas City Renegades, Oklahoma Defenders, Salina Bombers and Philadelphia Soul.
