Day & Night is the sixth extended play by South Korean girl group Kara, released on August 18, 2014, with the lead single "Mamma Mia". [1] It marks their first released with new member Heo Youngji after the departure of members Nicole and Jiyoung earlier in the year. [2]
After the departure of Kang Jiyoung and Nicole Jung from the group, DSP Media started a TV show titled Kara Project , a reality TV program which revolves around seven trainees who competed to become the new member of the group. On July 1, 2014, Heo Youngji was proclaimed the winner. Following her victory, DSP announced plans for the group to release a South Korean album in August before embarking on a concert tour in Japan on October. [2] [3] Producer Duble Sidekick was later announced to be working on the record. [4]
On July 16, it was reported that the group finished the recordings of the mini-album's promotional single music video. [5] On August 1, it was revealed that its title track will also be released as single in Japan after it received good reviews from Japanese affiliates. [6] The full track listing of the single was unveiled on August 8, with "So Good" serving as its B-side. [7]
The EP consists of six tracks. The first five tracks, including the lead single "Mamma Mia", were composed by Duble Sidekick. The music video was filmed in the Gyonggi Province on July 9. [8] The song will also be released as the group's eleventh Japanese single after it received good reviews from Japanese affiliate label, Universal Sigma. [6] The last track on the album, titled "Story", were co-written by members Park Gyuri, Han Seung Yeon, and Goo Hara. [9]
The group held an album showcase on August 18, same day as the EP's release, at UNIQLO-AX Hall and was also aired on channels SBS MTV in South Korea and TBS in Japan on August 24. [10]
The track listing was revealed on August 8. A video of the album preview was uploaded on Kara's official YouTube channel. [9]

Kara is a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media in 2007. The group's current lineup is Gyuri, Seungyeon, Nicole, Jiyoung, and Youngji. Kara made their debut in March 2007 with their first studio album, The First Bloooooming, and its title track, "Break It." Originally a quartet composed of Park Gyuri, Han Seungyeon, Nicole Jung, and Kim Sunghee, Kara showcased a strong female image and a mature R&B sound. Expectations for the group were high because they were considered the successors to their senior labelmates, Fin.K.L; however, their debut was a commercial failure. The following year, Sunghee left the group due to parental pressure, and members Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung were added.
Revolution is the second studio album and second Korean material release by South Korean girl group Kara, released digitally on July 30, 2009, and physically on July 31, 2009, by DSP. The album was the band's first regular release to be recorded under the second line-up, featuring members Goo Hara and Kang Jiyoung, who replaced Kim Sunghee after her withdrawal in 2008.

Karasia are a series of concert tours by South Korean girl group Kara. The first concert tour titled Karasia began in Seoul, South Korea in February 2012, and continued with 12 shows in Japan starting in Yokohama in April. The tour was also planned to have dates in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia and others, but this never came to fruition.
Puretty was a South Korean girl group formed by DSP Media. The group debuted in Japan in 2012 through the anime series Pretty Rhythm: Dear My Future, where fictionalized versions of the members appeared as the secondary cast, and their songs, "Check it Love" and "Shuwa Shuwa Baby", were used as the series' ending theme songs. Despite plans for them to make their Korean debut, the group disbanded in January 2014, with DSP Media announcing the possibility of its members becoming part of other groups in the future.

Heo Young-ji, better known mononymously as Youngji, is a South Korean singer, dancer, entertainer and television personality. She is best known as a member of girl group Kara. In 2023, Heo Young-ji made her official solo debut with the release of the single "L.O.V.E."
Secret Summer is the sixth and final extended play by South Korean girl group Secret. The album was released on August 11, 2014, and contains six tracks. The album came in 2 versions, one pink and one blue.
Duble Sidekick is a South Korean music producer and songwriting duo consisting of lyricist Park Jang-geun and composer Mikey. The duo was formed in 2010, and rose to fame after producing MBLAQ's 2012 EP 100% Ver. Since then, they have produced many hit songs. From 2011 to 2013, the pair also produced songs under the mantle of 우리형과 내동생, reserved for music with a softer and sweeter atmosphere. In late 2012, they expanded their team to include more composers and started their own entertainment agency called Duble Kick Entertainment. Wellmade Yedang became the agency's largest shareholder in May 2014.
In Love is the seventh extended play released by the South Korean girl group Kara, on May 26, 2015 with the lead single "Cupid".
