Wind power in Ohio has a long history, and as of 2016, Ohio had 545 megawatts (MW) of utility-scale wind power installations installed, responsible for 1.1% of in-state electricity generated. Over 1000 MW more were under construction or pending approval. Some installations have become tourist attractions. There has been a sudden increase in generating capacity, as total wind power capacity in the state was just 9.7 MW in 2010. By 2019, there were 738 MW of capacity, which generated 1.71% of Ohio's electricity.

Wind power in Turkey Wind generated electricity in the Eurasian country

Wind power generates about 10% of Turkey's electricity, mainly in the west in the Aegean and Marmara regions, and is gradually becoming a larger share of renewable energy in the country. As of 2022 Turkey has 11 gigawatts (GW) of wind turbines. The Energy Ministry plans to have another 10GW installed in the 2020s, but the International Energy Agency says that is not enough, and there is techno-economic potential for much more.

Solar power in Turkey Heat and electrical energy from the sun in Turkey

The climate of Turkey is very suitable for solar energy as solar potential is very high, especially in the South Eastern Anatolia and Mediterranean regions. Solar is a growing part of renewable energy in the country, with solar panels generating almost 8 gigawatts (GW), or about 4%, of the country's electricity. Although similarly sunny, by 2021 Turkey had installed far less solar power than Spain. Production could increase far more quickly if subsidies for coal were abolished and the auction system was improved. Every gigawatt of solar power installed would save over US$100 million on gas import costs, and more of the country's electricity might be exported.
