Debabrata Maiti is an Indian scientist specializing in organometallic chemistry and bioinspired catalysis and serving as Professor of Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Mumbai. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, the prestigious Indian national award for excellence in scientific research, for Chemical Sciences for the year 2022 for his significant contributions to developing transition metal catalysis for transforming organic molecules to prepare value-added materials by site-selective functionalization, leading impact on agrochemicals and pharmaceuticals industry. Education and career

Debabrata Maiti obtained B Sc degree in chemistry from University of Calcutta in 2001, secured the M Sc degree in chemistry from Indian Institute of Technology Bombay in 2003 and Ph D degree from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 under the supervisopn of Kenneth D. Karlin. He spent two years as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at Massachusetts Institute of Technology with Stephen L. Buchwald. Returning to India he joined IIT Bombay as an assistant professor in chemistry in 2010 where he is currently serving as Professor of Chemistry. [1]

Yogesh Moreshwar Joshi is an Indian chemical engineer, rheologist and the Pandit Girish & Sushma Rani Pathak Chair Professor at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur. He is known for his studies on metastable soft matter and is an elected fellow of the Society of Rheology, Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, and Indian National Academy of Engineering. In 2015, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded Joshi the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology for his contributions to Engineering Sciences. In 2023, he received prestigious J C Bose fellowship constituted by the Science and Engineering Research Board, Government of India.

Ganpathi Naresh Patwari is an Indian chemist and a professor at the Department of Chemistry of the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. Known for his studies on vibrational spectroscopy, his work is reported to have widened the understanding of the fundamental concepts in hydrogen bonding.

Rahul Banerjee is a Bengali Indian organic chemist and a professor at the department of chemical sciences of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Kolkata. Banerjee, a fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, is known for his studies in the field of Metal–organic framework designing. The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the apex agency of the Government of India for scientific research, awarded him the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to chemical sciences in 2018. Currently he is one of the associate editor of international peer-review journal Journal of the American Chemical Society.

Suryendu Dutta is a Professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at IIT Bombay. His research interests include plant biomarkers in sediments and crude oils, plant metabolites, shale gas, molecular taphonomy, protein diagenesis, hydrocarbon source rock characterization and lignin metabolism. Dutta secured his M Sc degree in applied geology in 2001 from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, M Tech degree in geoexploration in 2003 from IIT Bombay and PhD degree in 2006 from RWTH Aachen University, Germany.

Jyotirmayee Dash is a professor at Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science, Kolkata, with research interests in topics related to organic chemistry and chemical biology in general.

Subimal Ghosh is Institute Chair Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering and Convener of the Interdisciplinary Program in Climate Studies at Indian Institute of Technology Bombay with research interests in hydrology and hydro-climatology. He obtained PhD degree in 2007 from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore on a thesis titled "Hydrologic Impacts of Climate Change: Uncertainty Modelling", and ME degree in 2004 from the same institute.

Rajnish Kumar is an Indian chemical engineer who specialises in clathrate hydrates and gas hydrates. He is a professor in the department of chemical engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology in 2022.

Akkattu T. Biju is an Indian scientist who is an associate professor in the Department of Organic Chemistry at the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru. He was awarded the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Indian national award for excellence in scientific research, for Chemical Sciences for the year 2022, for his work on transition-metal-free carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bond-forming reactions using aryne chemistry and carbene-based organocatalysis.
