Deerfield Township is a township in Tioga County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 541 at the 2020 census. [2]
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 29.4 square miles (76 km2), all land.
As of the census [4] of 2000, there were 659 people, 242 households, and 186 families residing in the township. The population density was 22.4 people per square mile (8.7/km2). There were 283 housing units at an average density of 9.6/sq mi (3.7/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 98.94% White, 0.61% African American, and 0.46% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.61% of the population.
There were 242 households, out of which 34.3% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 62.4% were married couples living together, 8.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 23.1% were non-families. 19.4% of all households were made up of individuals, and 7.9% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.71 and the average family size was 3.06.
In the township the population was spread out, with 28.4% under the age of 18, 5.6% from 18 to 24, 26.6% from 25 to 44, 24.6% from 45 to 64, and 14.9% who were 65 years of age or older.
