Defiance is an unincorporated community located in Perry County, Kentucky, United States.
Kentucky, officially the Commonwealth of Kentucky, is a state located in the Southern United States. Although styled as the "State of Kentucky" in the law creating it,, Kentucky is one of four U.S. states constituted as a commonwealth. Originally a part of Virginia, in 1792 Kentucky split from it and became the 15th state to join the Union. Kentucky is the 37th most extensive and the 26th most populous of the 50 United States.
Perry County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2010 census, the population was 28,712. Its county seat is Hazard. The county was founded in 1820. Both the county and county seat are named for Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry, a naval hero in the War of 1812.
Defiance is a city in and the county seat of Defiance County, Ohio, United States, about 55 miles (89 km) southwest of Toledo and 47 miles (76 km) northeast of Fort Wayne, Indiana, in Ohio's northwestern corner. The population was 16,494 at the 2010 census.
The Defiance Campaign against Unjust Laws was presented by the African National Congress (ANC) at a conference held in Bloemfontein, South Africa in December 1951. The Campaign had roots in events leading up the conference. Fort Defiance was built by General "Mad" Anthony Wayne in the second week of August 1794 at the confluence of the Auglaize and Maumee rivers. It was the one of a line of defenses constructed by American forces in the campaign leading to the Northwest Indian War's Battle of Fallen Timbers on August 20, 1794.
Jerry David Claiborne was an American football player and coach. He served as the head football coach at Virginia Tech (1961–1970), the University of Maryland (1972–1981), and his alma mater, the University of Kentucky (1982–1989), compiling a career college football record of 179–122–8. Claiborne was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame as a coach in 1999.

Mount Defiance is an 853 ft (260 m) high hill on the New York side of Lake Champlain, in the northeastern United States. The Defiance is operated by The Baseball Club of Tacoma and managed by Seattle Sounders FC, while 20 percent of the club is fan-owned through the non-profit Sounders Community Trust.

He served as the head football coach at Defiance College in Defiance, Ohio from 1923 to 1924, Alfred University in Alfred, New York in 1925, Kentucky Wesleyan College from 1926 to 1927, Ohio Northern University from 1929 to 1930, and Western Kentucky University in 1932.
