Lake Tear of the Clouds is a small tarn located in the town of Keene, in Essex County, New York, United States, on the southwest slope of Mount Marcy, the state's highest point, in the Adirondack Mountains. It is the highest pond in the state at 4,293 feet (1,309 m). It is often cited as the highest source of the Hudson River, via Feldspar Brook, the Opalescent River and Calamity Brook.
The Barren River is a 135-mile-long (217 km) river in Southcentral Kentucky, United States, and a tributary of the Green River. The watershed of the Green River is the largest of the twelve major river watersheds in Kentucky. The Barren River rises near the Tennessee border in Monroe County and flows into the Green in northeast Warren County. The drainage basin consists of Southcentral Kentucky and north-central Tennessee.
Heezen Glacier is a glacier flowing northeast from the eastern portion of the Wegener Range and entering Violante Inlet east of Mount Reynolds, on the Black Coast of Palmer Land, Antarctica. It was mapped by the United States Geological Survey from aerial photographs taken by the U.S. Navy, 1966–69. In association with the names of oceanographers grouped in this area, it was named by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1977 after Bruce C. Heezen, an American marine geologist and oceanographer who was Professor of Geology at Columbia University's Lamont–Doherty Geological Observatory, 1964–77.
