Devendra Prasad Yadav (born 26 November 1953) is a former member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Jhanjharpur constituency of Bihar and was a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, Janata Dal (United) and Janata Dal. [1]

He was the Secretary of Bihar Janata Party from 1977 to 1979 and was elected to Bihar Legislative Assembly from Phulparas but resigned for Karpoori Thakur who became the Chief Minister of Bihar. He was elected to Bihar Legislative Council and remained from May 1978 to November 1989. He was the National President of Yuva Lok Dal.

He was a Member of Parliament from Jhanjharpur from 1989 to 1998 and from 1999 to 2009. He was Union Cabinet Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, Consumer Affairs, and Public Distribution with an additional charge of Commerce in June 1996 in Deve Gowda ministry and Gujral ministry. During this tenure, he passed the Historical food bill for farmers which is praiseworthy.

He was deputy leader of Janata Dal (United) in Lok Sabha but left soon to join Rashtriya Janata Dal. He formed Samajwadi Janata Dal Democratic after leaving the Rashtriya Janata Dal but soon re-joined Janata Dal (United) by merging his party in it. [2] [3]

Raghunath Jha was an Indian politician who was Union minister of State for Heavy Industries and Public Enterprise and member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Bettiah constituency of Bihar and was a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) political party. Born in Village Amba Ojha Tola, in Sheohar He started his career by becoming the Mukhiya of his home panchayat in the year 1967. Thereafter, in 1967 he became Chairman of Zila Parishad. He started his legislative career in 1972 when he was elected as a MLA on Congress Ticket. He was elected from Sheohar for a record six consecutive terms before 1998. He was twice elected as a Member of Parliament from Gopalganj and Bettiah respectively.

Md. Ali Ashraf Fatmi was a member of the 14th Lok Sabha of India. He represented the Darbhanga constituency of Bihar for 13 years with 4 terms and was a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) political party. Recently he was terminated by Lalu Prasad Yadav's son - Tejashwi Yadav as he showed disrespect to him on no grounds. He joined Bahujan Samajwadi Party (BSP) and declared to fight from Madhubani Constituency, from Bihar but withdrew his candidature the next day. He also declared his disassociation with BSP. On 29 July 2019, fatmi joined JDU.

He is the leader of Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal (RLJD), his own party, which splited from Janata Dal (United) (JDU) in 2023. On 20 February 2023, Kushwaha resigned from all positions in Janata Dal (United) and formed his own party called Rashtriya Lok Janata Dal due to his political problems with JD(U) and Nitish Kumar.

Brij Behari Prasad, also spelled Brij Bihari Prasad was an Indian politician. A member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), Prasad served as Minister for Science and Technology in the Government of Bihar. He was arrested for alleged involvement in corrupt admissions to technical institutes and was murdered on 13 June 1998 at the Indira Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences in Patna, where he was undergoing treatment. It was claimed that his death was in retribution for his involvement in assassination of gangster Chhottan Shukla and five other people, who were killed on 4 December 1994, while returning home from a campaign organised in context of 1995 Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Shukla was a gangster from the Bhumihar community, whereas Prasad was a Bania. Supporters of Prasad were thought to be responsible for the killing of Shukla.

Gulab Yadav is an Indian politician. He was elected to the Bihar Legislative Assembly from Jhanjharpur in the 2015 Member of Bihar Legislative Assembly as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal. He also contested the 2019 Lok Sabha election from Jhanjharpur as a member of Rashtriya Janata Dal but lost.

Kushwaha is a surname used by people of Koeri caste in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. The Kushwahas are also known as Maurya, Shakya, Saini in various parts of north India. As per one opinion, the Kushwaha surname is also common among members of Kachhi caste, who later merged with the Koeris to become a single homogeneous community. They are a dominant OBC community in the state of Bihar.
