Dogtown, also known as Cagle's Crossroads,Dog Town, and Ruhama, is an unincorporated community in DeKalb County, Alabama, United States. [1]
First called Cagle's Crossroads after a local family, the community was then called Dogtown due to the large number of hunters and their dogs that frequented the area. It is also referred to as Ruhama, in reference to a local Baptist church that was organized in 1900. [2]
This location is served by Ruhama Junior High School, which is a part of the Dekalb County Schools District. The current Principal is Dr. Stevie Green.

Willstown was an important Cherokee town of the late 18th and early 19th century, located in the southwesternmost part of the Cherokee Nation, in what is now DeKalb County, Alabama. It was near Lookout or Little Wills Creek. It was in Wills Valley, which also incorporated Big Wills Creek. This was within the territory of the Lower Creek, who had crossed into this area in an effort to avoid European-American encroachment.
State Route 176 was created in September 1980 along previous County/Secondary State Roads 81 and 89 in DeKalb County and part of County/Secondary State Road 89 in Cherokee County. Part of the route took over what had been State Route 275 and forms the northern end of the Little River Canyon Rim Parkway: a scenic, but severely substandard highway following the northern rim of the limestone canyon for 22 miles (35 km).
