Douglas Gordon Perry [2] (born 1967) [3] is a United States Navy vice admiral and submarine warfare officer who serves as the commander of the United States Second Fleet. He previously served as the director of the Undersea Warfare Division of the U.S. Navy from July 16, 2021 to July 24, 2023. [4] [5] He most recently served as the commander of Submarine Group 9 from January 25, 2019, to June 8, 2021. Prior to this, Perry served as director of joint and fleet operations of the United States Fleet Forces Command, with command tours as commodore of Submarine Development Squadron 5 from March 2014 to April 2016 and commanding officer of the USS Pasadena (SSN-752) from October 2006 to February 2009. Perry earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in 1989. He also holds a master's degree in Civil Engineering from Marquette University. [10]
In May 2023, Perry was nominated for promotion to vice admiral. [11] On January 12, 2024, he became commander of the United States Second Fleet and Joint Force Command Norfolk. [12]
USS Pasadena (SSN-752) is a Los Angeles-class submarine and the third ship of the United States Navy to be named for Pasadena, California.
Bruce Estes Grooms, is a retired vice admiral in the United States Navy. His last duty station before retirement was as Deputy Chief of Staff for Capability Development at Allied Command Transformation. He retired in June 2015.
