East Point is a train station in East Point, Georgia, serving the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It has an island platform between two tracks. It was opened on August 16, 1986.

Contents

It mainly serves East Point, Camp Creek, and unincorporated South Fulton and College Park.

This station provides access to downtown East Point historic dining-shopping-urban renewal district, and East Point Public Library. Bus service is provided at this station to Atlanta Medical Center-South Campus, Brownsmill Golf Course, Point University, Fulton County Board of Education, Camp Creek Market Place, Fulton HJC Bowden Senior Center, Cleveland Avenue and Grady East Point Health Center. The proposed Clayton County commuter rail service will use it as the terminal, although it is on hold.

State Route 6 (SR 6) is a 72.1-mile-long (116.0 km) state highway that travels northwest-to-southeast in the U.S. state of Georgia. It is known as Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway, Jimmy Campbell Parkway, Nathan Dean Parkway, and Wendy Bagwell Parkway in Paulding County; C.H. The station is named after the nearby North Avenue. The walls are made of white tile and painted with a mural of green hills, a blue sky, and clouds. The murals were designed by Gordon Anderson while he was a Professor of Art at Georgia State University. It is among the busiest stations in the system with an average of 15,000 boardings per weekday. The station has a direct entrance to Tower Square and is actually located in the skyscraper's basement.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Lindbergh Center station</span> MARTA rail station

Lindbergh Center station is an at-grade train station in Atlanta, Georgia, serving the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It serves the Lindbergh/Morosgo neighborhood in southern Buckhead, and is a part-time terminus of the Red Line and the last transfer point for the Red and Gold (Doraville) rail lines. It is the only station on this route served by the Red and Gold lines at all times. This is the third busiest station in the MARTA system, handling an average of 23,400 boardings per weekday. It is important to the MARTA system for a number of reasons. It is adjacent to the MARTA headquarters building, located just north of the Armour Yard Rail Services Facility, which allows trains to come into service at a more central location than was previously possible, and at an important junction point for the future Belt Line and Clifton Corridor.

Exits are located on Piedmont Avenue and Jesse Hill Jr. Drive. The station's name is in reference to its proximity to Georgia State University.

This station mainly serves the Oakland City, Sylvan Hills and Capitol View neighborhoods of Atlanta.

Lakewood / Fort McPherson is a rail station in Atlanta and East Point, Georgia, serving the Red and Gold lines of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) rail system. It has an island platform between two tracks. It opened on December 15, 1984. The set up for this station is like many on the East-West line. In a similar layout to that of Oakland City, the road adjacent to the station must be traversed for station access; in the case of Lakewood/Fort MacPherson, a bridge over the roadway is utilized rather than an underpass.
