Maverick County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census,its population was 57,887. Its county seat is Eagle Pass. The county was created in 1856 and organized in 1871. It is named for Samuel Maverick,cattleman and state legislator.
Piedras Negras is a city and seat of the surrounding municipality of the same name in the Mexican state of Coahuila. It stands at the northeastern edge of Coahuila on the Mexico–United States border,across the Rio Grande from Eagle Pass in the U.S. state of Texas. In the 2015 census the city had a population of 163,595 inhabitants,while the metropolitan area had a population of 245,155 inhabitants. The Piedras Negras and the Eagle Pass areas are connected by the Eagle Pass–Piedras Negras International Bridge,Camino Real International Bridge,and the Union Pacific International Railroad Bridge.
U.S. Highway 57 (US 57) is a 98-mile (158 km) north–south intrastate United States highway that follows a nearly east–west route in the southwestern part of the U.S. state of Texas. The highway's northern (eastern) terminus is about 50 miles (80 km) south of San Antonio,Texas,between Devine and Pearsall,at an intersection with Interstate 35. Its southern (western) terminus is in Eagle Pass,at the Rio Grande,where it continues into Piedras Negras,Coahuila,as Mexican Federal Highway 57.
Rubén Eloy Hinojosa is an American politician who served as the U.S. representative for Texas's 15th congressional district,from 1997 to 2017. He is a member of the Democratic Party. The district stretched from Seguin,to McAllen on the Mexican border. Much of the region was rural although Hidalgo County is part of the third-fastest-growing metropolitan statistical area in the country. Hinojosa served on the Financial Services and Education committees.

It serves domestic flights within Mexico for the Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras binational metropolitan area,the northern Coahuila region and Southern Texas. It also supports cargo operations,as well as executive and general aviation activities. Passengers traveling to destinations in the United States typically utilize the larger San Antonio International Airport. Piedras Negras Airport is operated by Administradora Coahuilense de Infraestructura y Transporte Aéreo,a state-owned operator. It handled 24,170 passengers in 2019,and 9,481 passengers in 2020.
The Camino Real International Bridge is an international bridge which crosses the Rio Grande connecting the United States-Mexico border cities of Eagle Pass,Texas,and Piedras Negras,Coahuila. The bridge is also known as "Eagle Pass-Piedras Negras International Bridge II","Puente Dos","Puente Camino Real" and "Puente Internacional Coahuila 2000".

Rubén Marinelarena Gallego is an American politician who formerly served as a U.S. Marine and now serves as the U.S. representative for Arizona's 3rd congressional district. A Democrat,he previously served as a member of the Arizona House of Representatives,serving as assistant minority leader from 2012 until he resigned to run for Congress. Gallego was first elected to Congress in 2014. His district includes most of southern,western,and downtown Phoenix,along with a portion of Glendale. He served as the national chair of Eric Swalwell's 2020 presidential campaign. Gallego served and deployed as a USMCR Corporal during Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Born in Missouri and raised in Pope County,Arkansas,Hern graduated from Arkansas Tech University in 1986 and briefly attended the Georgia Institute of Technology before returning to Arkansas to work for McDonald's the following year. In 1997 he bought his first McDonald's franchise and in 1999 he earned his MBA degree from the University of Arkansas,Little Rock. After moving to Oklahoma in 1999,Hern expanded his McDonald's franchises,eventually owning 18 franchises in the Tulsa metropolitan area. In 2018,he ran his first campaign for office and was elected to the United States House of Representatives.
On May 4,2019,the city of Dallas,Texas,held an election to choose the next Mayor of Dallas. The election began as a nonpartisan blanket primary,no candidate took a majority of over 50% of the total vote so the two top vote-earners Eric Johnson and Scott Griggs advanced to a runoff election on June 8. Incumbent mayor Mike Rawlings was unable to run for reelection due to term limits. Dallas also concurrently elected all 14 members of its city council,and 3 of the 9 total members of the Dallas Independent School District. Johnson won the runoff with 55.61%.
