Enterogyrus is a genus of monogeneans belonging to the family Ancyrocephalidae. [2]
All members of the genus are parasitic on fish, but, in contrast to most ancyrocephalid which are parasites on the gills, species of Enterogyrus are parasite in the digestive system. [1] [3]
The following species are considered valid according to WorRMS: [2]
Cichlidogyrus is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans in the family Ancyrocephalidae. The type-species of the genus is Cichlidogyrus arthracanthusPaperna, 1960, by original designation. All the species of the genus are parasites on the gills of fish, namely African Cichlidae, Nandidae and Cyprinodontidae.
Pseudorhabdosynochus is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans, included in the family Diplectanidae. The type-species of the genus is Pseudorhabdosynochus epinepheli .
The Diplectanidae are a family of monopisthocotylean monogeneans. They are all parasitic on the gills of fish. Diplectanids are small animals, generally around 1 mm in length. As parasites, they can be extremely numerous, up to several thousand on an individual fish.
Alexandr Vladimirovich Gussev, sometimes spelled Gusev in the literature, was a Russian helminthologist specialist of monogeneans.
Louis Euzet was a French parasitologist.
Pseudorhabdosynochus caledonicus is a diplectanid monogenean parasitic on the gills of the Blacktip grouper, Epinephelus fasciatus. It has been described in 2005.
Echinoplectanum is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans in the family Diplectanidae. All its species are parasites on the gills of fish; hosts recorded to date are all groupers, including coralgroupers and the Dusky grouper. So far, species of Echinoplectanum have been recorded only from fish caught off Australia, New Caledonia and in the Mediterranean Sea.
Lamellodiscus is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans in the family Diplectanidae; all species of Lamellodiscus are small worms, parasitic on the gills of teleost fish.
Cichlidogyrus philander is a species of monopisthocotylean monogenean, in the family Ancyrocephalidae. It is ectoparasitic on the gills of the fish Pseudocrenilabrus philander.
Ancyrocephalidae is a family of monogenean flatworms. The family is considered as a "temporary name" in WorMS but includes a large number of genera and species.
Lethrinitrema is a genus of monogeneans belonging to the family Ancyrocephalidae. The genus was created by Susan Lim and Jean-Lou Justine in 2011 for parasites of lethrinid fish from New Caledonia. All members of the genus are parasitic on the gills of fish.
Volsellituba is a genus of monogeneans belonging to the family Ancyrocephalidae.
František Moravec is a Czech parasitologist who specialises on the Nematodes, especially the nematodes parasites of fishes. His research is mainly in the field of taxonomy of the Nematoda.
Furcohaptor is a genus of monopisthocotylean monogeneans, belonging to the family Diplectanidae. All known species are parasitic on the gills of tonguefish.
Delane C. Kritsky is an American parasitologist who specialised on the Monogenea, a class of parasitic flatworms which are important ectoparasites of fishes. His research was mainly in the fields of taxonomy, faunistics, and phylogeny of the Monogenea.
Kritskyia is a genus of monogeneans in the family Ancyrocephalidae.
Laticola dae is a species of diplectanid monogenean. It is parasitic on the gills of the Highfin grouper, Epinephelus maculatus. It was described in 2006. The species is a member of the genus Laticola Yang, Kritsky, Sun, Zhang, Shi & Agrawal, 2006. More than 400 specimens of this parasite were studied for the description of the species, which was the most abundant monogenean species, representing about 50% of the specimens found on this fish.
Echinoplectanum pudicum is a species of diplectanid monogenean parasitic on the gills of the leopard coralgrouper, Plectropomus leopardus. It has been described in 2006. This species was distinguished from all other species of the genus Echinoplectanum by the shape and small size of its male copulatory organ, and the apparent absence of a sclerotised vagina.
Echinoplectanum rarum is a species of diplectanid monogenean parasitic on the gills of the leopard coralgrouper, Plectropomus leopardus. It has been described in 2006. This species is very rare and represented only 2% of the specimens of Echinoplectanum spp. found in P. leopardus. This species was distinguished from other species of the same genus by its characteristic ring-shaped sclerotised vagina.
Scutogyrus is a genus of flatworms belonging to the family Ancyrocephalidae.
