Fox Sports Arabia (formerly ESPN STAR Sports Arabia from 1997 to 1998) was an Emirati pay television sports channel that broadcast to the entire MENA region including the Middle East and North Africa. It was available as a part of the STAR Select package of television channels.

The channel was originally launched as Fox Sports on 16 January 1998. [1] The channel changed its name to Fox Sports Middle East on 1 April 1999, [1] but it was apparently later renamed back to Fox Sports, before it was eventually shut down.

Star World English-language television channel in Asia

Star World is an English language entertainment television channel originally launched on 15 December 1991 by STAR TV in Hong Kong as the old iteration of Star Plus. On 31 March 1996, the channel was split into two, when the former became Star World in East and Southeast Asia part of STAR TV's rebranding, and the latter retained the Star Plus name in India and the Middle East. However, after Star ended its partnership with Zee TV on 30 June 2000, Star Plus was transformed into a Hindi-language channel, with Star World being already introduced in the region as an English entertainment replacement.

FX is an American pay television channel owned by FX Networks, LLC, a subsidiary of the Disney General Entertainment unit of The Walt Disney Company. It is based at the Fox Studios lot in Century City, California. FX originally launched on June 1, 1994. The network's original programming aspires to the standards of premium cable channels in regard to mature themes and content, high-quality writing, directing and acting. Sister channels FXM and FXX were launched in 1994 and 2013, respectively. FX also carries reruns of theatrical films and terrestrial-network sitcoms. Advertising-free content was available through the FX+ premium subscription service until it was shut down on August 21, 2019.

Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific Limited, formerly Satellite Television Asian Region Limited, and subsequently Fox International Channels Asia Pacific Limited, was a Hong Kong-based commercial broadcasting company operating multiple specialty television channels. The company is part of the Fox Networks Group, and since March 2019 is owned by Disney International Operations.

Channel [V] was a pan-Asian pay music television network owned by Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific, a pay-TV channel unit of Disney International Operations. It was launched by what was back then STAR TV to replace MTV's original Asian operation. The Mainland Chinese version was owned by Star China Media and the Australian channels were owned by Foxtel until their closures.

Star Movies Indian television channel

Star Movies is an Asian pay television network originally owned by Fox Networks Group Asia, Middle East and Star TV India. In March 2019, The Walt Disney Company acquired Star TV for $71 billion with 21st Century Fox. Star Movies was originally launched as a single channel broadcast across Asia, but it was regionalised into different localised channels since then. Fox Networks Group Asia Pacific have since rebranded some of the network's international feeds in Hong Kong, Taiwan and Southeast Asia as Fox Movies, but retains the Star Movies brand in Mainland China ,Taiwan ,Middle East & South Asia. Star India continues to operate the Indian feed of the network as a channel specialised in Western films, while the Middle Eastern feed, operated by Fox Networks Group Middle East, co-exists with Fox Movies. Star Movies HD in Taiwan is operated by Disney Networks Group Taiwan which was the advertisement-free offering of Fox Movies Taiwan. However, from March 2021 Star Movies Taiwan started doing short advertisement breaks in between movies. Star Movies in Middle East is operated by Fox Network Group Middle East. Star Movies has been changed into Star Movies HD on January 10, 2021.

Orbit Communications Company Privately owned Pay TV network

Orbit Communications Company was a privately owned Pay TV network, operating in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia. Owned by Saudi Arabia-based Mawarid Holding, it was the first fully digital, multi-channel, multi-lingual, pay television service in the Middle East and North Africa and was also the world's first fully end to end digital TV network. Launched in 1994, it was originally situated in Tor Sapienza, Rome, Italy as the location was considered entirely suitable to build a satellite farm. Orbit employed around 600 employees who were largely a combination of British and Italian staff with several Arabic speaking nations also represented. Orbit broadcast in several languages around the world including English, Arabic, French and Filipino.

Star China Media Chinese media company; subsidiary of China Media Capital

Star China Media is a Chinese media company currently owned by China Media Capital. Its businesses were previously a part of the original News Corporation's Star group of television channels in Hong Kong, but China Media Capital took over a percentage of shares in them in 2010, and completed acquisition in 2014. The company operates television channels Xing Kong, and maintains Fortune Star film library.

After Wayne Gretzky was traded to the Los Angeles Kings in 1988, CBC began showing occasional double-headers when Canadian teams visited Los Angeles to showcase the sport's most popular player. These games were often joined in progress, as the regular start time for Hockey Night in Canada was still 8 p.m. Eastern Time and the Kings home games began at 7:30 p.m. Pacific Time. Beginning in the 1995 season, weekly double-headers became the norm, with games starting at 7:30 Eastern and 7:30 Pacific, respectively. In 1998, the start times were moved ahead to 7 p.m. ET and PT.
