The GL5 Active Protection System is an active protection system developed in China by NORINCO designed for main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles. The system can detect incoming warheads such as anti-tank guided missiles (ATGM) with a range of 100m and within a 360-degree horizontal and 20-degree band. Upon detection, two defensive rockets are fired at the incoming threat. The system employs four multi-mission fire control radars for tracking and engaging incoming threats. It was decided to introduce a hard-kill active protection system to strengthen the survival of South Korean main battle tanks (MBT), and the development was completed under the leadership of ADD from 2006 to December 2011.

The Haider MBT, is a modernized variant of the VT-4 main battle tank of Norinco. It is locally manufactured by Heavy Industries Taxila of Pakistan for the Pakistan Army. Its existence was revealed in UAE's IDEX in 2023, which was displayed on the Pavilion of Pakistan. It is named after the Islamic Caliph, Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib.
