Gabriel Trifu (born 14 April 1975) [1] is a Romanian tennis coach and former professional tennis player. In 1998, he won his first and only title on the ATP Tour, a doubles title at the Romanian Open with Andrei Pavel. [1] Since 2017, Trifu has been the captain of the Romanian Davis Cup team.

Ivan Ljubičić is a Croatian-Italian former professional tennis player and coach, and Tennis TV commentator. He reached a career-high Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) world No. 3 singles ranking on 1 May 2006. His career highlights include reaching a major semifinal at the 2006 French Open, and a Masters title at the Indian Wells Masters in 2010. He also contested three other Masters finals, two in 2005 at Madrid and Paris, and the other at the 2006 Miami Open.

The Romanian Open is a professional men's tennis tournament played on outdoor clay courts. It was the successor event to the earlier Romanian International Championships (1930–1983). It is part of the ATP 250 tournaments of the ATP Tour. It was held annually in Bucharest, Romania, between 1993 and 2016 and revived in 2024. Its name is taken from Romania's famous tennis players Ilie Năstase and Ion Țiriac.
