Garage Classical is a compilation album by British disc jockey DJ Spoony with Katie Chatburn and the Ignition Orchestra, released on 18 October 2019, on the Since 93 label. [1] The album contains orchestral covers of classic UK garage tracks and features appearances from Paloma Faith, Sugababes, Lily Allen, Emeli Sandé, Gabrielle, So Solid Crew and more.

The album was preceded by the release of two promotional singles "Moving Too Fast" featuring Paloma Faith and "Sweet Like Chocolate" featuring Lily Allen. "Flowers" featuring Sugababes was the only single to chart, reaching No. 22 in Scotland and No. 26 on the UK Dance Singles Chart.

Background and promotion

On 28 August 2019, during an interview with Official Charts Company, the DJ announced the album and talked about the artists he was collaborating with stating "I know Sugababes' Mutya and Keisha personally because they are huge garage fans. They were always out in the garage clubs, but at the same time, they were huge pop stars and the biggest girl band in the country." [2]

The album was released on CD format on 18 October 2019, followed by 2xLP on 6 December 2019. [3] [4]

A live show was performed on 24 October 2019 at the Royal Albert Hall. [5]

Buchanan was asked to leave the group in September 2009 and was replaced by Jade Ewen.

Development of "Easy" began when the American rock band Orson discovered that the Sugababes were working on the album, in which they proposed ideas for new tracks. The following is a discography of UK pop production house Xenomania, put together by songwriter and record producer Brian Higgins. "Movin' Too Fast" was originally recorded by Johnson as a solo artist and appears on her debut album, Simply Passion, produced by Rolando Bacci Hardage. The Artful Dodger remix version of the track was first distributed as a white label vinyl release. After it was picked up by DJs, it was licensed to Locked On for mainstream distribution.

Sigma are a British drum and bass DJ and record production duo consisting of Cameron James "Cam" Edwards and Joseph Aluin "Joe" Lenzie. They met at Leeds University at drum and bass nights. Their 2010 collaboration with DJ Fresh, "Lassitude", peaked at number 98 on the UK Singles Chart. Their single "Nobody to Love" topped the UK Singles Chart, becoming their first UK number one. Their second was the follow-up single "Changing", featuring Paloma Faith.

"Gabriel" is a song by Roy Davis Jr. and Peven Everett.

"Sincere" is the debut single by English UK garage musician MJ Cole, released in 1998. It features Nova Casper and Jay Dee on vocals. The song initially peaked at No. 38 on the UK Singles Chart, but a re-release in 2000 containing new mixes proved even more successful, peaking at No. 13. It also reached No. 1 on the UK Dance Singles Chart.
