Gaurav Bhatia is the National Spokesperson of Bharatiya Janata Party and is a Senior Advocate designated by the Supreme Court of India.

He served as the Honorary Secretary of the Supreme Court Bar Association from 2015-2017. Being elected for his second term in 2016, he was the highest polled candidate with 652 votes. [1] He was also an Advocate-on-Record of the Supreme Court of India before being designated as a Senior Advocate in March 2019. [2]

He was earlier the National Spokesperson and the National President of the Legal Wing of the Samajwadi Party. [3] He left the party on 5 February 2017 and joined Bharatiya Janata Party on 2 April 2017. [4] [5]

He is the son of Virendra Bhatia, a former member of the Rajya Sabha (the upper house of the Parliament of India) and Advocate General of the state of Uttar Pradesh. [3] He did his schooling from La Martiniere College in Lucknow, undergraduate studies from University of Bridgeport in Connecticut, United States, and graduated in law from Lucknow University. [6] In September 2020, Gaurav Bhatia was one of the 10 leaders from Uttar Pradesh that were included in BJP's new team ahead of the Bihar assembly elections. [7]

He defeated his nearest rival, Shabbir Balmiki of Samajwadi Party by 1,28,752 votes. He was a member of the 17th Uttar Pradesh Legislative Assembly from Balha from 2017 to 2019. Lal served as an MLA for five terms.
