Milton is a town in Southern Ontario,Canada,and part of the Halton Region in the Greater Toronto Area. Between 2001 and 2011,Milton was the fastest growing municipality in Canada,with a 71.4% increase in population from 2001 to 2006 and another 56.5% increase from 2006 to 2011. In 2016,Milton's census population was 110,128 with an estimated growth to 228,000 by 2031. It remained the fastest growing community in Ontario but was deemed to be the sixth fastest growing in Canada at that time.

The Brantford 99ers were a Junior A ice hockey team in the Ontario Junior Hockey League based in Brantford,Ontario. The 99ers have previously been known as the Milton Icehawks,Milton Merchants,Milton Flyers,and Milton Steamers as Milton hosted junior hockey from 1966 to 2018. After purchasing the team,Darren DeDobbelaer of Brantford moved the club to that city for the start of the 2018-19 season,re-branding the team as the 99ers. In 2023,DeDobbelaer sold the team. Zeeshan Hamid is a Canadian politician,who was elected to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario in a by-election on May 2,2024. He represents the electoral district of Milton as a member of the Ontario Progressive Conservative Party. Before becoming an MPP,Hamid was a tech executive and has at least two patents under his name.
