Goshen Scout Reservation is a Boy Scout reservation designated to camping, swimming, hiking and other various activities. Goshen is home to six Boy Scouts of America resident summer camps located near Goshen, Virginia, and is owned and operated by the National Capital Area Council. The camps are all built around Lake Merriweather. Opened to Scouts in the summer of 1967, today it has six different camps covering over 4,000 acres (16 km2) of land. Within Goshen there are three Boy Scout camps, two Cub Scout camps, and one high adventure camp.

USS <i>Goshen</i>

USS Goshen (APA-108) was a Bayfield class attack transport in service with the United States Navy from 1944 to 1946. She was sold into commercial service in 1947 and was scrapped in 1973.

Goshen Pass Natural Area Preserve is a 936-acre (3.79 km2) Natural Area Preserve located in Rockbridge County, Virginia. The oldest state-managed natural area in Virginia, it was first acquired in 1954 to help protect views of the gorge along the Maury River. The site contains stands of chestnut oak, pine-oak-heath woodland, rocky scrub communities, regionally rare plants such as freshwater cordgrass, and habitat for the Appalachian jewelwing, a locally rare damselfly. The site was dedicated as a preserve in 2001.

Goshen and Little North Mountain Wildlife Management Area is a protected area located in Rockbridge and Augusta counties, Virginia. At 33,697 acres (136.37 km2), it is the largest Wildlife Management Area managed by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The area comprises two parcels of land bisected by the Maury River; the lowest terrain is 1,326 feet (404 m) above sea level, while the highest is 3,400 feet (1,000 m). Three major mountains are found within the heavily forested area, in addition to a lesser amount of native herbaceous habitat.

Jake Kelchner is a former starting quarterback for West Virginia University during the 1990s. He was part of the mountaineers undefeated 1993 team. Kelchner also went on to play one season in the Canadian Football League (CFL) and three seasons in the Arena Football League (AFL).
