Goudaea is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the family Bromeliaceae. [1]
Its native range is Trinidad, Bolivia, Colombia and Peru. [1]
The genus name of Goudaea is in honour of Eric Gouda (b. 1957), Dutch botanist; specialist in Bromeliaceae. [2] It was first described and published in Phytotaxa Vol.279 on page 51 in 2016. [1]

The Bromeliaceae are a family of monocot flowering plants of about 80 genera and 3700 known species, native mainly to the tropical Americas, with several species found in the American subtropics and one in tropical west Africa, Pitcairnia feliciana.
