Greene County is a county located in the U.S. state of North Carolina. As of the 2020 census, the population was 20,451. Its county seat is Snow Hill.
Snow Hill is a town in Greene County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,595 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Greene County and is part of the Greenville Metropolitan Area. Snow Hill hosts numerous tennis tournaments during the year. Snow Hill is home to the Green Ridge Racquet Club. Many junior players and adults travel to Snow Hill in order to play in the USTA Sanctioned tournaments.
Walstonburg is a town in Greene County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 219 at the 2010 census. It is located north of Snow Hill on North Carolina Highway 91. The town is part of the Greenville Metropolitan Area.
Jason is a small unincorporated community in eastern North Carolina, United States, in Greene County. Incorporated in 1885, Jason is an agricultural based community with town water system and volunteer fire service. Jason is located roughly halfway between Snow Hill and LaGrange on Highway 903. First named Aloc, meaning "leave alone" by the Tuscarora Indian tribe, Jason was settled by the Hardy, Mewborn, Aldridge and Kearney families. There was also a cotton mill on the northern side of town, which was one of the first in Greene County.
The Chowan County Courthouse is a historic courthouse in Edenton, the county seat of Chowan County, North Carolina. Built in 1767, it is one of the finest examples of public Georgian architecture in the American South. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970.
The Abbeville County Courthouse, built in 1908, is an historic courthouse located in the east corner of Court Square, in the city of Abbeville in Abbeville County, South Carolina. It was designed in the Beaux Arts style by Darlington native William Augustus Edwards who designed several other South Carolina courthouses as well as academic buildings at 12 institutions in Florida, Georgia and South Carolina. An arcade connects it to the adjoining Abbeville Opera House and Municipal Center, which Edwards also designed. In 1964, the courthouse was renovated by Lyles, Bissett, Carlisle, and Wolff of Columbia. On October 30, 1981, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places. It is included in the Abbeville Historic District.
Jackson County Courthouse is an historic courthouse located at Sylva, serving Jackson County, North Carolina. It was designed by Smith & Carrier and built in 1913, when Sylva took over the county seat designation from Webster.
St. Barnabas Episcopal Church is a historic Episcopal church located at SE 4th Street and St. Barnabas Road in Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1887, and is a small, rectangular, Carpenter Gothic style frame building. It sits on a low brick foundation and has a steep gable roof.
The Greene County Courthouse, located in Jefferson, Iowa, United States, was built in 1918. It was individually listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978 as a part of the County Courthouses in Iowa Thematic Resource. In 2011, it was included as a contributing property in the Jefferson Square Commercial Historic District. The courthouse is the third structure to house court functions and county administration. The courthouse features the Mahany Tower, a 120 feet bell tower.

It includes the Courthouse Square district and surrounding commercial and residential areas. Notable buildings include the Stanardsville Methodist Church, Grace Episcopal Church (1901), Lafayette Hotel, Gibbons Store, John Sims house (1850), Greene County Chamber of Commerce, Forest Hill Academy, and Stanardsville Motor Company (1930). Located in the district is the separately listed Greene County Courthouse.
The current Burke County Courthouse is located at 201 South Green Street, Morganton, Burke County, North Carolina and operates as the courthouse for Burke County. It was opened in 1976 to replace the Old Burke County Courthouse. The old courthouse, in use by 1837, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Snow Hill Colored High School, also known as Greene County Colored Training School and Rosenwald Center for Cultural Enrichment, is a historic Rosenwald School building located at Snow Hill, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1925, and is a one-story, seven bay, "H"-shaped brick building. A six classroom addition was built about 1935. Also on the property are the contributing Mary M. Battle Monument and baseball field. The Snow Hill Colored High School is one of five schools that were constructed using Rosenwald funds in Greene County, including the Zachariah School.
Zachariah School is a historic Rosenwald School building located near Wooten's Crossroads, Greene County, North Carolina. It was built in 1920, and is a one-story, frame building sheathed in weatherboard and containing three classrooms. An auditorium was added in 1921, but removed about 1967–1969. Zachariah School closed in 1956. The Zachariah School is one of five schools that were constructed using Rosenwald funds in Greene County, including the Snow Hill Colored High School.

Located in the district are the separately listed Greene County Courthouse and St. Barnabas Episcopal Church. Other notable buildings include J. Exum & Co. Grocery building, Harper Drugstore, Sugg-Harper House, Williams-Exum Housem, Murphrey-Morrill House (1885), Josiah Exum House (1887-1888), Alfred Warren House (1912-1915), Calvary Memorial Methodist Church (1928), Snow Hill Presbyterian Church (1935), and former First Baptist Church.

The district encompasses 51 contributing buildings in the central business district of Greenville. It includes buildings dated from about 1914 to 1952 and notable examples of Greek Revival and Queen Anne style architecture. Located in the district and listed separately are the Pitt County Courthouse (1911) by Milburn, Heister & Company and U.S. Post Office (1913).
