Gunter Building is a historic commercial building located at Spruce Pine in Mitchell County, North Carolina, United States. It was built about 1941, and is a two-story, three bay by four bay, building constructed of river-tumbled micaceous biotite. It was built by local stonemasons Charlie Mitchell and Dave Greene for the Belk-Broome Company. [2]
It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2002. [1] It is located in the Downtown Spruce Pine Historic District.

The Palmer-Marsh House is a historic house museum and National Historic Landmark on Main Street south of Carteret Street in Bath, North Carolina. Built in 1744, it is one of the oldest residences in North Carolina, and is a well-preserved example of a large colonial town house with a commercial space built in. It was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1970. It is now a North Carolina state historic site, and is open for tours.
Pine Hall, also known as Anderson-Hanes House, is a historic plantation house located at Pine Hall, Stokes County, North Carolina. It was built in 1859, and is a two-story, three bay by two bay, Greek Revival style brick dwelling. The front facade features a one-story portico with a hip roof and paired heavy Doric order pillars. Also on the property are a number of contributing outbuildings and a family cemetery.
Penland is an unincorporated community in the Snow Creek Township of Mitchell County, North Carolina, United States. Penland is 2.9 miles (4.7 km) west-northwest of Spruce Pine. Approximately 200 year-round residents live in the community, the center of which is the Penland Road bridge crossing the North Toe River and CSX railroad line.

Spruce Street YMCA is a historic YMCA building located at Winston-Salem, Forsyth County, North Carolina. It was built in 1927, and is a four-story, brick and limestone building in the Classical Revival style. The front facade features pilasters with Corinthian order capitals and two entrances with arched openings. The building house a YMCA until 1976.
Dr. Roscius P. and Mary Mitchell Thomas House and Outbuildings, also known as the Ruth Thomas Home Farm, is a historic home located near Bethlehem, Hertford County, North Carolina. The house was built in 1887, and is a two-story, three-bay, single-pile, side-gable roof, Late Victorian style frame dwelling with a two-story, gable-roof rear ell. Built into the ell is a Greek Revival style kitchen building. The house is sheathed in weatherboard, sits on a brick foundation, and has a one-story half-hip roof porch. Also on the property are the contributing doctor's office, smoke house, and root cellar.
Main Building, Mitchell College is a historic building located on the campus of Mitchell Community College at Statesville, Iredell County, North Carolina. It was built in 1854–1856, and is a three-story stuccoed brick building with a heroic hexastyle Doric order portico in the Greek Revival style. It is T-shaped in plan, 13 bays wide and 3 bays deep, with a five-bay-deep and three-bay-wide wing. Atop the roof is an octagonal wooden cupola. An east wing, Shearer Music Hall, was added to the structure in 1907.

Textile Mill Supply Company Building is a historic factory building located at Charlotte, Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. It was designed by Lockwood, Greene & Co. and built in 1922. It is a three-story, ten-bay wide by-five-bay deep, red brick structure with a full basement. It has large rectangular windows and pine post-and-beam interior framing. The building housed the Textile Mill Supply Company that sold and distributed supplies essential to the operations of textile mills in the Piedmont sections of the Carolinas.
Downtown Spruce Pine Historic District is a national historic district located at Spruce Pine, Mitchell County, North Carolina. The district encompasses 33 contributing buildings in the central business district of Spruce Pine. It was developed between 1909 and 1953, and includes notable examples of Early Commercial and Tudor Revival style architecture. Located in the district is the separately listed Gunter Building. Other notable buildings include the Spruce Pine Depot (1909), Crystal Place (1937), (former) Town Hall (1940), and Day's Drug Store (1950).
The old Mitchell County Courthouse is an historic courthouse located at Bakersville, Mitchell County, North Carolina. It was built in 1907–1908, and is a two-story cast stone building in a vernacular Classical Revival style. It has a hipped roof with a two-stage square cupola crowned by a domical roof. It has four-sided turret-like corner bays.
James Boyd House, also known as Weymouth, is a historic home located at Southern Pines, Moore County, North Carolina. It was designed by architect Aymar Embury II and built in the 1920s. It is a large, rambling Colonial Revival style brick dwelling. It consists of a five-bay, two-story central block flanked by two-story hyphens and wings. It was built by historical novelist James Boyd after World War I. Since 1979, the building has housed the Weymouth Center for the Arts and Humanities.
Pool Rock Plantation is a historic plantation house located near Williamsboro, Vance County, North Carolina. It consists of two, two-story sections. The older was built in 1757 by James Mitchell, an immigrant from Lunenburg County, Virginia. His daughter, Amy Mitchell, married Michael Satterwhite in the house in 1759. It is a two-story, three bay, Federal style frame structure. It forms the rear section. About 1855, a more ornate two-story, three bay, Italianate style frame structure attributed to Jacob W. Holt (1811-1880). The later section has a shallow hipped roof and overhanging eaves. The two sections are joined by a two-story hallway linker. Also on the property is a contributing one-story, hip roof office building.
Sprucewold Lodge is a historic summer tourist accommodation at 4-9 Nahanada Road in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. Its main lodge built in 1927, it was the centerpiece of an extensive rustic retreat on the Spruce Point peninsula southeast of downtown Boothbay Harbor. The lodge is one of the state's finest examples of rustic Adirondack architecture, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014. In 2016, the lodge was listed for sale.
