HD 2039 is a yellow dwarf or yellow subgiant star in the constellation Phoenix. The star is not visible to the naked eye, and lies 280 light years away from the Sun. HD 2039 is a relatively stable star, and an exoplanet at least three times the mass of the planet Jupiter has been discovered in its orbit; this exoplanet, known as HD 2039 b, was the 100th exoplanet to be discovered. The designation HD 2039 from the Henry Draper Catalogue. The catalogue, which was published between 1918 and 1924, was based on the work of Annie Jump Cannon and her team between 1911 and 1915. [7] [8] HD 2039 does not have a common, colloquial name that is characteristic of stars like Sirius, Procyon, and Aldebaran.
HD 2039 is a stable [9] G-type star, meaning it shines with white light that can be seen in the Sun. HD 2039 exhibits a radius approximately 40 percent larger than the Sun's. [4] The star is slightly hotter than the Sun; while HD 2039 has a temperature of 5935 K, [4] the Sun's surface temperature lies nearly 200 kelvins lower at 5778 K. [10] HD 2039 is unusually metal-rich, which has attracted the attention of astrophysicists. [9]
The star's magnitude as observed from Earth is 9; this signifies that the body is not visible with the naked eye, but can be seen with a telescope. [11] HD 2039 lies roughly 280 light years from the Sun, [1] which is about as far from the Sun as the second brightest star in the night sky, Canopus. [12]
In 2002, a planet was found by the Anglo-Australian Planet Search team to be orbiting the star in a very eccentric orbit. [9] It has a minimum mass more than four times that of Jupiter and has an orbital period of over three years. The planet orbits its star at a distance of approximately two AU away; the planet Earth, in comparison, orbits at a distance of one AU away from the Sun. [13] HD 2039 b's discovery was reported quietly; no press release was provided by the observatory that discovered the star's planet, and no formal announcement of the planet's existence was made. [6] The entity was the 100th exoplanet to have been verified by the scientific community. [6]

HD 169830 is a star in the southern constellation of Sagittarius. It has a yellow-white hue and is dimly visible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of +5.90. The star is located at a distance of 120 light years from the Sun based on parallax. It is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −17.3 km/s, and is predicted to come as close as 20.7 ly (6.4 pc) in 2.08 million years. HD 169830 is known to be orbited by two large Jupiter-like exoplanets.
54 Piscium is an orange dwarf star approximately 36 light-years away in the constellation of Pisces. In 2003, an extrasolar planet was confirmed to be orbiting the star, and in 2006, a brown dwarf was also discovered orbiting it.
BD−10°3166 is a K-type main sequence star approximately 268 light-years away in the constellation of Crater. It was inconspicuous enough not be included in the Draper catalog (HD). The Hipparcos satellite also did not study it, so its true distance is poorly known. The distance measured by the Gaia spacecraft of 268 light years rules out a suggested companion star, LP 731-076, being its true binary star companion.
HD 187123 is a single, yellow-hued star with two exoplanetary companions in the northern constellation of Cygnus. It has an apparent visual magnitude of 7.83, making it an 8th magnitude star that is too faint to be visible with the naked eye. However, it should be easy target with binoculars or small telescope. The system is located at a distance of 150 light years from the Sun based on parallax measurements, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −17 km/s.
HD 20367 is a star in the constellation of Aries, close to the border with the Perseus constellation. It is a yellow-white hued star that is a challenge to view with the naked eye, having an apparent visual magnitude of 6.40. Based upon parallax measurements, it is located 85 light years from the Sun. It is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +6.5 km/s. Based upon its movement through space, it is a candidate member of the Ursa Major Moving Group of co-moving stars that probably share a common origin.
HD 210277 is a single star in the equatorial constellation of Aquarius. It has an apparent visual magnitude of 6.54, which makes it a challenge to view with the naked eye, but it is easily visible in binoculars. The star is located at a distance of 69.5 light years from the Sun based on parallax, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −20.9 km/s.

HD 4628 lies at a distance of approximately 24.3 light years from the Sun based on parallax. The apparent magnitude of 5.7 is just sufficient for this star to be viewed with the unaided eye. The star appears to be slightly older than the Sun—approximately 5.4 billion years in age. The surface activity is low and, based upon the detection of UV emission, it may have a relatively cool corona with a temperature of one million K.
HD 185269 is a stellar triple system approximately 170 light-years away in the constellation Cygnus. It is easily visible to binoculars, but not the naked eye.
HD 40307 is an orange (K-type) main-sequence star located approximately 42 light-years away in the constellation of Pictor, taking its primary name from its Henry Draper Catalogue designation. It is calculated to be slightly less massive than the Sun. The star has six known planets, three discovered in 2008 and three more in 2012. One of them, HD 40307 g, is a potential super-Earth in the habitable zone, with an orbital period of about 200 days. This object might be capable of supporting liquid water on its surface, although much more information must be acquired before its habitability can be assessed.
HD 131664 is an 8th magnitude star in the southern constellation of Apus with an orbiting brown dwarf or stellar companion. Parallax measurements by the Gaia space observatory provide an estimated distance of 172.5 light years from the Earth. The system is moving further away with a baseline heliocentric radial velocity of +35 km/s.

HD 164604 is a single star in the southern constellation of Sagittarius constellation. It has the proper name Pincoya, as selected in the NameExoWorlds campaign by Chile, during the 100th anniversary of the IAU. Pincoya is a female water spirit from southern Chilean mythology who is said to bring drowned sailors to the Caleuche so that they can live in the afterlife. A 2015 survey ruled out the existence of any additional stellar companions at projected distances from 13 to 340 astronomical units. It is known to host a single super-Jupiter exoplanet.
HD 93385 is a star in the southern constellation of Vela. At an apparent visual magnitude of 7.5, it is too faint to be seen with the unaided eye. Parallax measurements made using the Gaia spacecraft show an annual shift of 23.15 mas. This is equivalent to a physical separation of around 141 light years from the Sun. It is drifting further away with a radial velocity of +47.8 km/s.
HD 146389, is a star with a yellow-white hue in the northern constellation of Hercules. The star was given the formal name Irena by the International Astronomical Union in January 2020. It is invisible to the naked eye with an apparent visual magnitude of 9.4 The star is located at a distance of approximately 446 light years from the Sun based on parallax, but is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −9 km/s. The star is known to host one exoplanet, designated WASP-38b or formally named 'Iztok'.
HD 99706 is an orange-hued star in the northern circumpolar constellation of Ursa Major. With an apparent visual magnitude of 7.65, it is too dim to be visible to the naked eye but can be viewed with a pair of binoculars. Parallax measurements provide a distance estimate of approximately 480 light years from the Sun, and the Doppler shift shows it is drifting closer with a radial velocity of −30 km/s. It has an absolute magnitude of 2.12, indicating it would be visible to the naked eye as a 2nd magnitude star if it were located 10 parsecs away.
