Habib Faisal is an Indian filmmaker and lyricist. He is best known for directing Do Dooni Chaar (2010) and Ishaqzaade (2012).

Career

He made his directorial debut, Do Dooni Chaar , for which he won Filmfare Award for Best Dialogue. [1] He co-wrote Siddharth Anand's Salaam Namaste . [2] He also wrote director Shaad Ali's Jhoom Barabar Jhoom starring Abhishek Bachchan and Preity Zinta, [2] and Siddharth Anand's Ta Ra Rum Pum starring Saif Ali Khan and Rani Mukherjee. [2] All three are Yashraj films. He also wrote Band Baaja Baaraat which was released in late 2010. [3]

Faisal then went on to direct his second film, Ishaqzaade , starring debutant Arjun Kapoor, and Parineeti Chopra in their first lead film, which released on 11 May 2012. [4] The film received positive response from critics, and managed to do very well at the box office, turning out to be a worldwide hit. [5] He then wrote Bewakoofiyaan , which was directed by Nupur Asthana and featured Ayushmann Khurrana, Sonam Kapoor, and Rishi Kapoor. [6] His next directorial venture was Daawat-e-Ishq , which had actors Aditya Roy Kapur and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles. [7] Daawat-e-Ishq released worldwide on 19 September 2014. [8] [9]

Faisal's fourth film, Qaidi Band was released on 25 August 2017.

An alumnus of Jamia Millia Islamia, he has directed the television serials kareena kareena [10] and worked in New Delhi as a camera person with NDTV. [11]

Do Dooni Chaar is a 2010 Indian Hindi family comedy-drama film produced by Arindam Chaudhuri, written and directed by debutant director Habib Faisal, and starring Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Singh, Aditi Vasudev and Archit Krishna in lead roles. The film is about a middle-class school teacher who tries to keep his wife and children happy in inflationary times and dreams of buying a car. The movie also marks the return of the Kapoor pair as a lead couple on the silver screen. Although the duo had not acted in a film in over 30 years, they had previously acted in numerous hits during the 1970s. The directorial debut film was also the first live-action Hindi film to be distributed by Disney World Cinema. It went on to win the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Hindi at the 58th National Film Awards.

Aaha Kalyanam is a 2014 Indian Tamil-language romantic comedy film directed by debutant A. Gokul Krishna and produced by Aditya Chopra's Yash Raj Films. A remake of Maneesh Sharma's 2010 Hindi film, Band Baaja Baaraat, the film stars Simran, Nani and Vaani Kapoor. Although it was planned for bilingual release, it was shot completely in Tamil, and a dubbed Telugu version was released simultaneously along with the Tamil version. The film was released worldwide on 21 February 2014.

Varsha Shilpa is a duo of Indian costume designers, who designed for films like Do Dooni Char (2010), Ishaqzaade (2012), Shuddh Desi Romance (2013), Daawat-e-Ishq (2014) etc. They received Filmfare Award for Best Costume Design for Do Dooni Char. Their design for old couple, Rishi Kapoor and Neetu Singh earned that accolade. They later designed for actor Sushant Singh Rajput, Parineeti Chopra and debutant actress Vaani Kapoor in the film Shuddh Desi Romance (2013). Parineeti Chopra is their regular partner, they designed for her in Ishaqzaade and Daawat-e-Ishq also.

Hitesh Modak is a music composer, arranger and producer from Mumbai. He is the arranger and music producer of the track "Moh Moh Ke Dhaage" from the film Dum Laga Ke Haisha.
