Johannes "Hannes" Jacobus Gerhardu Dreyer (born 13 January 1985) is a South African sprinter who specializes in the 100 metres. [1]

Contents

Dreyer represented South Africa at the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing. He competed at the 4x100 metres relay together with Leigh Julius, Ishmael Kumbane and Thuso Mpuang. In their qualification heat they did not finish due to a mistake in the baton exchange and they were eliminated. [1]

Education

He is a student at the University of Pretoria. [2]

Jaysuma Saidy Ndure is a Gambian-Norwegian sprinter. He is of Serer heritage of the noble Ndure family. Having changed nationality from Gambia to Norway in 2006, he holds Norwegian records in the 100 and in the 200 metres, and is the seventh and fourth fastest European of all times on the two distances. The men's marathon event was part of the track and field athletics programme at the 1920 Summer Olympics. The distance of this race was 42.75 kilometres. The competition was held on Sunday, 22 August 1920. 48 runners from 17 nations competed. No nation had more than 4 runners, suggesting the limit had been reduced from the 12 maximum in force in 1908 and 1912. The event was won by Hannes Kolehmainen of Finland, the nation's first Olympic marathon medal and victory; Kolehmainen received his fourth gold medal, having won the 5000 metres, 10,000 metres, and individual cross country in 1912. Estonia and Italy also won their first marathon medals.
