Hau Ruck is the thirteenth album by industrial rock band KMFDM, released by Metropolis Records on September 13, 2005. It was recorded in Seattle, Washington.
This album returns KMFDM to its industrial rock roots, leaving the alternative metal and nu metal on display in the previous albums Attak and WWIII .
While touring in support of 2003's WWIII , band leader Sascha Konietzko discussed the group's plans for the next album: "What we can all agree on, and I'm not saying we disagree on any other things, but everybody was pointing out that it should be really different. There are terms floating around such as, 'More noisy, more dance-y, more electronic and less butt rock.'" [3] After releasing a single album with Sanctuary Records, the band re-signed with Metropolis Records. [4]
The album had originally been titled FUBAR , [4] in reference to the military acronym standing for "Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition/Repair". However, in June 2005 the band announced they were abandoning that title, and on July 21, 2005, they announced the new title would be Hau Ruck, German for "heave-ho". Hau Ruck is the first KMFDM album without a five-letter word title since 1988's Don't Blow Your Top .
According to Sascha Konietzko, Hau Ruck was created entirely using analog equipment. [5]
Hau Ruck was released on September 13, 2005. Many songs from Hau Ruck were remixed for KMFDM's next release, Ruck Zuck .

KMFDM is a multinational industrial band from Hamburg led by Sascha Konietzko, who founded the band in 1984 as a performance art project.
Nihil is the seventh studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, released on April 4, 1995, by Wax Trax! Records. The album marked the return of former band member Raymond Watts and the first appearance of session drummer Bill Rieflin, and was mostly written by frontman Sascha Konietzko.
MDFMK was an industrial rock band formed by two members of KMFDM, Sascha Konietzko and Tim Sköld. Lucia Cifarelli, formerly of the band Drill, later joined to make a trio.
Money is the fifth studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, released in February 1992 by Wax Trax! Records. It was originally intended to be titled Apart, with each of the two core members, Sascha Konietzko and En Esch, recording half an album and combining their work. The album ended up using only Konietzko's half, along with additional songs. It received mixed reviews, but spawned a number of club hits. It went out of print in the late 1990s and was re-released in 2006.
What Do You Know, Deutschland? is the debut studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, released in December 1986 by Z and Skysaw Records.
WWIII is KMFDM's twelfth studio album, released on September 23, 2003. It follows the common KMFDM practice of naming albums with five-letter words. This is KMFDM's only release on Sanctuary Records. Lyrically, the album is very political. The songs primarily attack George W. Bush's presidency, various US wars in the Middle East, and America's foreign policy. The last track, "Intro", introduces the members of the band. It was recorded in Seattle, Washington. The album's first and eponymous single was featured in the game Saints Row: The Third.
Adios is the tenth studio album released by German industrial band KMFDM. The album was originally conceived as the group's parting shot to its longtime record label, Wax Trax! Records, but it ended up also signaling the break-up of KMFDM itself until the band reformed in 2002. Recorded in Seattle, Washington, this was the last album to feature En Esch and Günter Schulz, who both went on to form Slick Idiot. Following the break-up, founding member Sascha Konietzko created the band MDFMK, before reforming KMFDM in 2002 without Esch or Schulz.
"A Drug Against War" is a song by industrial rock band KMFDM, taken from their 1993 album Angst. It was released as a single prior to the album. A music video, featuring animated depictions of the band's previous album covers and singles, was made for the single, and was subsequently shown on the MTV cartoon Beavis and Butt-head on 11 July 1994. It was re-released as a 7" in 2009. On 16 December 2010 it was made available as a downloadable song for the game Rock Band. In late 2011, the band released a new version of the song called "A Drug Against Wall Street", with lyrics in support of the Occupy Wall Street movement, and made it available for free download from their site.
Angst is the sixth studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, released on 12 October 1993 by Wax Trax! Records.
UAIOE is the third studio album by the German industrial band KMFDM. It was released on 7 October 1989 by Cash Beat Records. Several 1970's "rock" bands are referenced: The album's title track borrows heavily from the lyrical tropes of Frank Zappa, whereas the song "En Esch" is, instrumentally, a cover version of Deep Purple's "Demon's Eye".
Lucia Cifarelli is an American singer, best known for her work with industrial band KMFDM. She was formerly the vocalist for the band Drill and also performed in KMFDM offshoots MDFMK, KGC, and Schwein.
"Juke Joint Jezebel" is a song by industrial rock group KMFDM from their 1995 album Nihil. It is KMFDM's most widely known song to date, with around three million copies of the song sold across various releases.
WWIII Live 2003 is a live album by industrial rock band KMFDM from their WWIII tour, recorded at the House of Blues, Chicago on October 27, 2003. It was released on July 27, 2004, on Sanctuary Records. It includes many of the songs from the WWIII album, along with some songs from other albums. The DVD release includes live footage from different venues throughout the tour. The band once again consists of 3 members of <PIG>, and these 3 members would ultimately be drafted into KMFDM fulltime as Watts and the band <PIG> would enter a lengthy hiatus.
Tohuvabohu is industrial rock group KMFDM's fourteenth studio album, released on August 21, 2007, on the band's record label KMFDM Records and Metropolis Records. It was recorded in Seattle, Washington.
Blitz is German industrial rock group KMFDM's fifteenth studio album, released on March 24, 2009, on KMFDM Records and Metropolis Records. It also marks the first use of five letter song titles and a five letter album title since WWIII. The album charted after its release, as did the song "People of the Lie". Blitz had songs written in three different languages, and was moderately well received by critics. Most of its songs were remixed for the band's next release, Krieg.
WTF?! is the sixteenth studio album by German industrial band KMFDM, released on April 26, 2011, on KMFDM Records and Metropolis Records. The regular line-up of Sascha Konietzko, Lucia Cifarelli, Jules Hodgson, Andy Selway, and Steve White was joined by a handful of musicians from other industrial and alternative metal acts. The album took about twice as long as usual for the band to produce, and underwent a significant amount of modification during its recording.
"Krank" is a song by industrial rock group KMFDM, the first single from their seventeenth studio album, WTF?!. It was released in North America on 8 March 2011 on the KMFDM and Metropolis record labels, and in Europe on 11 March 2011 on the Dependent label. None of the tracks on the Krank release are on the album, as the album features a different version of Krank, and does not feature any version of Day Of Light. The single features remixes by band leader Sascha Konietzko, former band members Tim Skold and Bill Rieflin, and Sebastian Komor of Icon of Coil.
