Hlobisile Salvatoris Dlamini,also known by her married name Hlobisile Ngxongo,is a South African politician who has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since November 2010,excepting a hiatus from May 2019 to November 2020. She is a former Deputy Regional Chairperson of the ANC's Far North branch in Umkhanyakude District in KwaZulu-Natal.
Dlamini is the younger sister of national minister Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma. [1] [2] In 1999,she appeared in the Durban Regional Court on fraud charges in relation to an amount of R3.8 million,which she and two others were accused of embezzling from the government between 1996 and 1998. She was the director of a company,the Maputoland Women's Organisation,which prosecutors alleged had been used to channel state funds into the personal bank accounts of the co-accused. [3] [4] Dlamini's husband,Sipho Ngxongo,was also arrested and charged in relation to the case. [5] [4] In a prolonged trial,she pled not guilty [3] and was acquitted in 2003. [6]
On 18 November 2010,Dlamini was sworn in to an ANC seat in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature,filling a casual vacancy created by the death of John Mchunu the previous month. [1] In the 2014 general election,she was elected to her first full term in the legislature,ranked 33rd on the ANC's provincial party list. [7] In December 2014,she was additionally elected as Deputy Regional Chairperson of the ANC's Far North branch in Umkhanyakude District,serving under Regional Chairperson Bethuel Mthethwa. [8]
In the 2019 general election,she stood for re-election to her legislative seat but was ranked 48th on the ANC's party list and did not initially secure one of the 44 seats won by the ANC. [9] However,she was sworn back in to the legislature on 25 November 2020,filling a casual vacancy arising from the death of Mluleki Ndobe earlier that month. [2]
Bongiwe Nomusa Sithole-Moloi has served as KwaZulu-Natal's Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs since February 2023. She has represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature since 2014 and in the KwaZulu-Natal Executive Council since 2016:she was formerly the MEC for Arts,Culture,Sports and Recreation from 2016 to 2019 and MEC for Agriculture and Rural Development from 2019 to 2023. She gained political prominence as the Mayor of Umgungundlovu District Municipality from 2000 to 2008;she was removed from that position in a vote of no-confidence supported by her own party.
Edward Senzo Mchunu is a South African politician currently serving as Minister of Water and Sanitation since 5 August 2021. A member of the African National Congress (ANC),he was formerly the Minister of Public Service and Administration from 30 May 2019 to 5 August 2021 and the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal from 22 August 2013 until 23 May 2016.

Nonhlanhla Mildred Khoza is a South African politician in KwaZulu-Natal serving as the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) for the provincial Department of Social Development. She was appointed to the position in May 2019. Khoza became a member of the KwaZulu-Natal Legislature in May 2014. She is the current provincial chairperson of the African National Congress Women's League.
Nkululeko Ntuthuko Mahlaba is a South African politician and healthcare practitioner. A member of the African National Congress,he serves as the party's provincial treasurer in KwaZulu-Natal as well as the chairperson of the party's Mbuso Kubheka Region. Since August 2022,he has been the Member of the Executive Council (MEC) responsible for Human Settlements and Public Works in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial government. Mahlaba previously served as the executive mayor of the Newcastle Local Municipality from 2019 to 2021.

Langalakhe Nicholas "Senzo" Mkhize was a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the National Assembly and KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature. Formerly an activist in the ANC Youth League,he served in the National Assembly from 2009 until 2010,when he was transferred to the provincial legislature. He remained in the provincial legislature until his death in 2016 and was its Chief Whip from 2014 onwards. At the time of his death,he was also a member of the Provincial Executive Committee of the ANC's KwaZulu-Natal branch.
