Holy Smoke is the debut album from New Zealand pop singer Gin Wigmore, released under the mononym Gin. Singles released off the album included "Oh My", "I Do" and "Hey Ho". The Cardinals play on every track and backed Wigmore on her subsequent tour. [3]

The album debuted at number one in New Zealand, and was certified Gold in its first week. The album was certified Platinum [4] in its second week, selling over 15,000 copies. [5] In September 2011, Home Improvement Retailer Lowe's began a new brand campaign featuring Wigmore's single "Don't Stop". [6]

Commercial performance

Holy Smoke debuted at number one on the New Zealand Albums Chart, then slowly fell down the chart, before topping the chart again in February 2010. [7] It then regained the top spot in October 2010 due to the release of the Deluxe Edition. It then soon gained Quadruple Platinum status. [8]

The Experiment is the first solo studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Dane Rumble. Released by Rumble Music and Warner Music on 29 March 2010, it follows two years after the split of his hip hop group Fast Crew. Rumble found it difficult to write music for himself, and therefore deviated to the pop rock genre. The 2010 New Zealand Music Awards was the 45th holding of the annual ceremony featuring awards for musical artists based in or originating from New Zealand. Finalists for the three technical awards were announced on 16 August 2010 with winners announced on 1 September, the date on which finalists for 16 'non-technical' categories were revealed. Five 'non-technical' awards were presented without a group of finalists being selected. The awards ceremony took place on 7 October 2010 at Vector Arena, Auckland. Hosted by television presenter Shannon Ryan and comedian Ben Hurley, the ceremony was broadcast on television channel C4. Various musicians, most of whom had been nominated for awards, performed songs on the awards night.

Gravel & Wine is the second album from New Zealand pop singer Gin Wigmore, released in New Zealand on 7 November 2011. The album was recorded in Santa Monica, California during the second quarter of 2011 under producer Butch Walker and counting with his backing band, The Black Widows. Before production begun, Wigmore travelled for two months in Mississippi and Alabama to get a Southern United States inspiration.
