Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs (also known as Ice Age 3: Dawn of the Dinosaurs in PAL territories) is a 2009 platform game published by Activision. It is based on the film of the same name. The game was released on June 30, 2009 for the Xbox 360 (X360), Wii, PlayStation 2 (PS2), PlayStation 3 (PS3), Windows, and Nintendo DS. A demo was made available in the Xbox Live Marketplace on June 15, 2009 as well as a computer demo. [1]

Gameplay

The game allows the player to take control of Manny, Sid, Scrat, Buck, Diego and Scratte as they take on or run away from dangerous dinosaurs, roll eggs to safety, chase for their beloved acorn and explore caves and jungles. [2] [3] [4]

Reception

The game received "mixed or average" reviews from critics. [5] [6] [7] [10] Metacritic gave the Wii version a score of 75 out of 100 and the Xbox 360 version a 68 out of 100, while the PC and PlayStation 3 versions both received a 67 out of 100 and the Nintendo DS version received a 54 out of 100. GameSpot gave both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions a 6.5 out of 10, writing, "Ice Age may be kid-friendly, funny, and faithful to the movie, but it's also repetitive and over too quickly." [8] [9]

IGN also gave the game a 6.5 out of 10, writing, "A perfectly acceptable purchase; if you're a little kid." [3]

It was later released for the Nintendo 3DS on 7 November 2011 in North America and 11 November 2011 in Europe, for iPhone and iPad on 7 December 2011 in North America and for PlayStation Vita on 15 February 2012 in North America, 22 February 2012 in Europe and 23 February 2012 in Australia. It was announced that the game would be released on Mac OS X, and iPad 2. The game sold 2 million units in two months, not including Japanese sales, making it one of the best-selling Wii title games.

    <i>GoldenEye 007</i> (2010 video game) 2010 video game

    GoldenEye 007 is a 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Eurocom and published by Activision for the Wii, with a handheld version for Nintendo DS developed by n-Space. It is a modern reimagining of the 1995 James Bond film GoldenEye as well as a remake of the 1997 video game of the same name, developed for the earlier Nintendo 64 console. The game was officially announced by Nintendo at their E3 2010 conference presentation. The game was released on 2 November 2010 in tandem with another James Bond game, Blood Stone, which was also released for the DS, but not the Wii. Nintendo, the publisher of the Nintendo 64 game, published the Wii version in Japan the following summer, where it remains Wii-exclusive. It was the fifth James Bond game developed by Eurocom and their second under Activision, after the PlayStation 2 version of 007: Quantum of Solace two years prior.

    Thor: God of Thunder is an action hack and slash video game based on the Marvel Studios film Thor. The game was developed by Liquid Entertainment and co-written by Matt Fraction. Thor: God of Thunder marks Thor's first standalone appearance in a video game and features the voices of Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston and Jaimie Alexander, who reprise their roles from the film. The game was released in 2011 for Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game can be played in 3D on 3DTVs and on 2DTVs via TriOviz Inificolor 3D glasses. The PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions were met with unfavorable reviews, while the Wii, DS, and 3DS versions were met with mixed reviews.
