Indonesia Comic Con (abbreviated as ICC, simplified as Indo Comic Con), branded as wondrful Indonesia Comic Con under sponsorship with Bank Negara Indonesia,is an annual comic-based convention in Jakarta, Indonesia, established in 2015. It is organized by Panorama Media (formerly Reed Panorama Exhibitions), the subsidiary of Panorama Sentrawisata , an Indonesian tourism service provider company. [1] ICC emphasizes the five pillars of pop culture, namely comics, toys, movies, video games, and lifestyles. It has featured numbers of notable international actors and actresses, as well as comic artists, DJs, VTubers, and professional cosplayers.
ICC is the intermediary for Jakartans to express their interest and love in pop culture, with full of passion and totality. It is made to support and gather all creative industry players—from comic and anime artists, movie fans, gamers and e-sport players, and also music lovers—in one convention. [2] [3]

The first edition of the convention was held from 14–15 November 2015. American comic artist David Mack, Japanese actor Kenji Ohba, Italian artist Simone Legno, and Indonesian rapper Saykoji were special guests at the event. 160 exhibitors from six countries had opened counters to entertain fans and sell merchandise. The second edition of the comic con was held from 1–2 October 2016. Actress Brianna Hildebrand, comic artists Alex Milne and Andy Price along with several other illustrators were present at the event. [5] Exhibitors from countries like Canada, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, the US and Indonesia participated in the event. [6] Cosplay events were held by Lego and Flabslab, while toy outlets like XM Studios exhibited fan merchandise. Several new fan zones were opened for the second edition. [7]
Actors Jason David Frank and Daniel Logan were guests for the third edition of the comic con, which was held from 28–29 October 2017. [8] Star Wars lightsaber performances, The Walking Dead Escape Room and the Star Trek booth were some entertainment zones opened for fans. [9]
This fourth edition was held on 27–28 October 2018, featuring the actors and actresses of Game of Thrones and Supergirl . [10] [2] The teaser trailer of Indonesia's superhero movie Gundala was unveiled by its director Joko Anwar. [2]
The fifth edition of ICC was held on 12–13 October 2019. The actor of the Red Power Ranger Austin St. John, Deborah Ann Woll from Marvel's Daredevil , and cosplayer Larissa Rochefort became the guest stars. One of the notable booths were 20th Century Fox Indonesia booth, which plays the sneak peek of Terminator: Dark Fate for the first time in Indonesia, as well as Sony Pictures' Jumanji: The Next Level . [11] [12] Indonesian comic publisher Bumilangit released its Bangkitnya Ki Wilawuk (The Rise of Ki Wilawuk) comic to ICC visitors, as the continuity of Bumilangit's Gundala film. [13]
Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, on 16 July 2020, the ICC event organizer (EO) announced that the event would be delayed to 30–31 January 2021, via their YouTube channel. [14] However, both 2020 and 2021 editions were eventually cancelled.[ citation needed ]
After its two-year absent, the sixth event of ICC was held on 1–2 October 2022, the first time since the pandemic. An NFT-based ticketing system was first introduced. [15] Brandon Routh, together with the numbers of VTubers and international cosplayers, such as Knite and Jasper became one of the guest stars. [16]
On 1 May 2023, it was announced that ICC would be held twice, [17] with the seventh edition (branded as Indonesia Comic Con: Pop Asia) held in June, and the eighth edition in November.
On the seventh edition (ICC Pop Asia), numbers of cosplayers, comic artists, VTubers, and DJs from both Japan and Indonesia were the guest stars of the event, including Weird Genius. It was held from 23–25 June 2023, the last edition to be held on Halls A and B of JCC. [18] ICC Pop Asia later become the forerunner of ICC's spin-off event, Indonesia Anime Con.
The eighth edition of ICC (in collaboration with Telkomsel's Dunia Games platform, branded as DG Con) was held from 4–5 November 2023, featuring English actor Ed Westwick, DJ Haruka, and Cover Corp. CEO Motoaki Tanigo, as one of the guest stars. The event conjoined with Dunia Games' DG Awards 2023, an awarding event for e-sport figures. The first 3D VTuber concert in Indonesia enlivens the event. [19] It was the first time ICC moved to Assembly, Cendrawasih, and Plenary halls of JCC, which have larger capacity. [20]
The ninth edition was branded wondrful Indonesia Comic Con after its title sponsor, Bank Negara Indonesia's wondr by BNI mobile banking app, which took place on 9–10 November 2024. Canadian actress Cobie Smulders became the main guest star of this edition.
Indonesia Anime Con (Inacon or IAC) is the spin-off event of ICC, which is a separated Japanese anime and manga convention, established on 15 June 2024. It was first announced on 1 January 2024, with the unveiling of the event's then-unnamed two mascots; later revealed as Kaitu Arjuna and Kirana Yumi. [21] It is set to be the second major anime convention in Indonesia after Comifuro. [22]
The debut took place on 15–16 June 2024 in Indonesia Convention Exhibition, BSD City, instead of JCC. [22] [23] It featured comic artists, as well as special guests, from Japan and Indonesia. The guests includes Motomu Toriyama and Teruki Endo, each are the co-director and gameplay battle director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth . Weird Genius and JKT48 filled the musical performance. [24]
Cosplay, a portmanteau of "costume play", is an activity and performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character. Cosplayers often interact to create a subculture, and a broader use of the term "cosplay" applies to any costumed role-playing in venues apart from the stage. Any entity that lends itself to dramatic interpretation may be taken up as a subject. Favorite sources include anime, cartoons, comic books, manga, television series, rock music performances, video games and in some cases, original characters.
San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) is a comic book convention and multi-genre entertainment event held annually in San Diego, California. It is held at the San Diego Convention Center. Originally showcasing primarily comic books and science fiction/fantasy media, Comic-Con has grown to include a large range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres.
MegaCon, short for Mega Convention, is a large speculative fiction convention that caters to the comic book, sci-fi, anime, fantasy, RPG, and gaming communities, often occurring in spring at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. The convention is the largest fan convention event in the Southern United States and second largest in North America with an attendance of 190,000 and generating an economic impact of 205 million in 2024.
Gundala is a 2019 Indonesian neo-noir superhero film based on the comics character Gundala, created by Harya Suraminata (Hasmi) in 1969. The film was co-produced by Screenplay Films and Bumilangit Studios, and distributed by Legacy Pictures. It is the first installment in the Bumilangit Cinematic Universe (BCU). The film is directed and written by Joko Anwar, and stars Abimana Aryasatya, alongside Tara Basro, Bront Palarae, Ario Bayu, Cecep Arif Rahman, Rio Dewanto, and Muzakki Ramdhan. The film depicts the efforts of security guard Sancaka, in the guise of crime-fighting vigilante Gundala, to prevent crime boss Pengkor from poisoning unborn Indonesian children.
MomoCon is a fan convention held in March or May in Atlanta, Georgia.
The MCM Comic Con London is a speculative fiction fan convention held at the ExCel London twice yearly since 2002, usually on the last weekend in May and October. The convention primarily focuses on comic books, video games, sci-fi, cosplay, anime and popular media.
C3AFA, also known as Anime Festival Asia (AFA), is a series of anime conventions held in the Southeast Asian region, with a core annual convention held in Singapore. The main convention is traditionally held over a weekend in late November to early December. It was held at the Suntec Singapore International Convention and Exhibition Centre from 2008 to 2011, but was moved to the Singapore Expo MAX Pavilion in 2012 due to renovation works at Suntec Convention Centre that year. The convention returned to Suntec Convention Centre in 2013 and is being held there till now.
Cosplay Mania is an annual cosplay-centered convention organized by Cosplay.ph. It is usually held in the fourth quarter of the year in the Philippines. The convention features various events related to cosplay, anime, and J-pop culture which features rookie and veteran cosplayers and cosplay enthusiasts.

She has been featured in various magazines, newspapers and TV shows locally and abroad. She appeared on the Filipino FHM 100 Sexiest Women poll, ranking No. 1 in 2009, No. 2 in 2010 and No. 3 in 2012; she posed as the cover girl for that magazine on its July 2013 issue. She was named by DOS Magazine as one of the Most Influential Women in the Philippines.
Bak-Anime is an annual two-day anime convention held at the Kern County Fairgrounds in Bakersfield, California by the staff of SacAnime. The convention is the sister conventions to the Bakersfield Comic Con, Sacramento Comic, Toy and Anime Show (Sac-Con), and SacAnime.

The Ottawa Comiccon is a fan convention with a focus on comics, sci-fi, horror, anime, and games. It is a spin-off of the Montreal Comiccon. It was launched in 2012. The event features comic books, toys, games, science-fiction, horror, anime, non-sport cards, and collectibles. It is held at the EY Centre convention center in Ottawa, taking place in May and lasting three days. The organizers of the Ottawa Comiccon primarily come from the Montreal Comiccon organization.
Dhaka Pop Culture Expo was a convention for fans of comic books, film, TV, anime and video games, held in the Bangladeshi capital of Dhaka. The first event was held on Friday and Saturday 30–31 August 2013 at Baridhara DOHS Convention Center, Dhaka; it was attended by over 2,000 participants. The 2014 expo was staged 24–25 June 2014 at the National Shooting Federation Hall in Dhaka. The third edition took place 31 July and 1 August 2015. The expo returned in July 2016, and June 2017.
AsiaPOP Comic Convention, also known as AsiaPOP Comicon, or simply APCC, is an annual comic book fan convention held in Metro Manila, Philippines. APCC features international brands in the fields of comics, toys, animation, film, television and music within the pop culture phenomena. The convention has since included a larger range of pop culture and entertainment elements across virtually all genres, such as video games, books and sports. APCC is the largest pop culture convention in the Philippines and South East Asia, and one of the largest in Asia.
Tahilalats, also known as Mindblowon, is an Indonesian-language webcomic which is created, written and illustrated by Nurfadli Mursyid. First published through the Instagram account @tahilalats in 2014, the daily four-panel comic is one of the most-followed webcomics in Indonesia, being published primarily via WEBTOON and social media platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. The webcomic follows the slice of life genre, generally with the addition of overexaggerated, absurd twists.
ComicCon Asia was a comic book fan convention held in Metro Manila, Philippines, that will feature in anime, comics, gaming, cosplay, TV shows, and movies. The convention held its inauguration on March 24–25, 2018, at SMX Convention Center in Pasay.
GalaxyCon, LLC, formerly known as Super Conventions or Supercon, is a privately owned company based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, that organizes comic book and anime conventions in the United States. It attracts 12,000+ attendees to the International Convention Centre Wales in Newport, and celebrates films, cult television, video gaming, anime, cosplay and comic books. It is organized by UK-based events company Monopoly Events.
