International Community School (ICS) is a private secondary school [1] in Kotagiri, Tamil Nadu, India. It is a co-educational, residential school. [2] Founded by renowned educationist, Jerry Lacson, International Community School was initially called Kotagiri Community School (KCS). [2] Heather Lacson, Jerry's wife took over the reins of the school after his passing on in 2007 until management of the 4-decade year old institution was taken over by social entrepreneur Senthil Rangaraj and his wife Maheswari Rangaraj since 2015. They are assisted by a team of senior educationists. It follows the Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Indian School Certificate (ISC) examinations conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations.

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an English language based secondary qualification similar to the GCSE and is recognised in the United Kingdom as being equivalent to the GCSE for the purposes of recognising prior attainment. It was developed by Cambridge Assessment International Education. The examination boards Edexcel, Learning Resource Network (LRN), and Oxford AQA also offer their own versions of International GCSEs. Students normally begin studying the syllabus at the beginning of Year 10 and take the test at the end of Year 11. However, in some international schools, students can begin studying the syllabus at the beginning of Year 9 and take the test at the end of Year 10.

The Indian Certificate of Secondary Education (ICSE) is an examination conducted by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, a private board designed to provide an examination in a course of general education, in accordance with the recommendations of the New Education Policy 2020 (India), through the medium of English. The examination allows secure suitable representations of responsible schools in their states or territories. The National Admissions and Accreditation agency of the UK, UCAS recognizes ICSE at par with the Higher School qualification of University of Scotland.

Catherine Falls is a double-cascaded waterfall located in Kotagiri, The Nilgiris District, in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It is a major tourist spot, located on the Mettupalayam road branching off at Aravenu. The upper fall drops to the floor, and is the second-highest in the Nilgiri Mountains. The waters from the upper stream of the Kallar River are crossed by the Mettupalayam-Ooty road beyond the mountains in the southwest. The combined height of both falls is about 76 metres (250 ft).
