Jacob Fincham-Dukes (born 12 January 1997) is a British track and field athlete who competes in the long jump. In 2022, he became the English long jump champion. In 2023 and 2024 he won the British Outdoor National Championships.
He attended St John Fisher Catholic High School, Harrogate and St Aidan's and St John Fisher Associated Sixth Form in Harrogate, North Yorkshire. He then attended Oklahoma State University–Stillwater for whom he became the school record holder at long jump indoors and outdoors and competed at the NCAA Championships. [1]
He was runner-up to Anatoliy Ryapolov and won silver at the 2015 European Athletics Junior Championships long jump competition in Eskilstuna, Sweden. His distance in that event was a personal best 7.75m and was described by his local newspaper the Harrogate Advertiser as “the length of two Mini Cooper’s. [2] He won 6 England Long Jump junior titles between the ages of 15 and 22.
Ficham-Dukes relocated to Oklahoma State University and competed on the American collegiate circuit. [3] Returning to Europe to compete at the 2021 European Athletics Indoor Championships he finished seventh in the final of the long jump at the Arena Toruń in Poland in March 2021. [4] This event came just after he achieved a new personal best jump of 8.08m at the British trials in Lee Valley. [5] On 26 March 2022 he jumped 8.45m 3.6w, the second longest jump in British history, in winning the Texas Relays. [6]
On 31 July 2022 he became the English long jump champion, jumping 7.58m in Bedford at the Bedford Athletic Stadium. After qualifying for the final of the long jump at the 2022 European Athletics Championships held in Munich in August 2022 Fincham-Dukes called out television broadcasters for not focusing enough on field events. [7] In the final itself, he managed a 8.06m season best jump to lead the event after round one before ultimately finishing second. It was due to be his first medal at a senior major championships. [8] However, after the event an appeal by the French Federation against his first jump was successful and after the event had ended it was deemed a foul. A counter appeal by the British team was unsuccessful and he was demoted from second to fifth. [9] [10]
In July 2023, he competed at the British Outdoor National Championships, held in Manchester. He won the event with a jump of 7.86m in round two. [11]
In April 2024 he followed up his 8.02 indoor leap with a new personal best of 8.20m (1.2) in winning the Texas Invitational event posting the UKA Olympic qualifying standard and moving to 6th UK all time. [12] In May 2024, he was selected to represent Britain in the long jump at the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome where he placed fourth overall. [13] [14] In June 2024, he retained his British national championship title at the 2024 British Athletics Championships in Manchester. [15] [16] He was selected to represent Great Britain at the 2024 Summer Olympics. [17]

Gregory James Rutherford MBE is a retired British track and field athlete who specialised in the long jump. He represented Great Britain at the Olympics, World and European Championships, and England at the Commonwealth Games. In September 2021 Rutherford was selected as part of the British bobsleigh team but was injured during preparations to qualify for the 2022 Winter Olympics.
Rabah Mahhamed Yousif Bkheit is a Sudanese-born British track and field athlete, who initially competed for Sudan before obtaining British citizenship.
Shara Proctor is a British former long jumper born in Anguilla. She is the national record holder of both Anguilla and Great Britain. On 28 August 2015 at the World Championships in Beijing she became the first British, female, long-jumper to jump over 7 metres (7.07), setting a new British record and earning a world championship silver medal in the process. She also won the 2013 IAAF Diamond League in the event. Her younger sister is the Anguillan sprinter Shinelle Proctor.
Holly Bethan Bradshaw is an English track and field athlete who specialises in the pole vault. She used to be the British record holder in the event indoors and outdoors, with clearances of 4.87 metres and 4.90 metres. Bradshaw won a bronze medal at the 2020 Summer Olympics. She also won bronze at the 2012 World Indoor Championships, gold at the 2013 European Indoor Championships, bronze at the 2018 European Championships, and silver at the 2019 European Indoor Championships. She also won at the 2018 Athletics World Cup. Coached by Scott Simpson, she has been consistently ranked among the world's best and has been ranked in the world top ten on the Track and Field News merit rankings four times.
Katarina Mary Johnson-Thompson is an English athlete. A multi-eventer, she is primarily known as both a heptathlete and an indoor pentathlete. In heptathlon she is a double world champion and double Commonwealth Games champion. In indoor pentathlon, she is a world and double European champion.
Zharnel Hughes is an Anguilla-born British sprinter who specialises in the 100 metres and 200 metres. Born and raised in the British Overseas Territory of Anguilla, he has competed internationally for Great Britain in the Olympic Games, World Athletics and European Athletics events, and for England at the Commonwealth Games, since 2015. A double Commonwealth Games, double European Championships gold medalist as part of the 4 x 100 metres relay, Hughes has twice been European champion individually; over 100 metres in 2018, and 200 metres in 2022. In 2023, he broke both British sprint records, before winning his first global individual medal, a bronze in the 100 metres at the 2023 World championships.

Lorraine Ugen is an English long jumper and occasional 100 m sprinter with respective personal bests of 7.05 m and 11.32 s. Ugen competed for Great Britain at the 2016 Olympics in Rio in the long jump, finishing in eleventh place.
