History

The station was awarded a television license from the Ministry of Communications and Information (the current Ministry of Science and ICT) on March 29, 2002. [1] The station was granted UHF channel 22 for Jeju City and was planning to set up a relay on channel 21 for Seogwipo. [2]

Broadcasts started on May 31, 2002, the day the 2002 FIFA World Cup kicked off. [3]
