A King's Counsel is a senior lawyer appointed by the monarch of some Commonwealth realms as a "Counsel learned in the law". When the reigning monarch is a woman,the title is Queen's Counsel (QC).

Sir Harry Talbot Gibbs was Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia from 1981 to 1987 after serving as a member of the High Court between 1970 and 1981. Christopher David Steytler is a former judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia and President of the Court of Appeal. He was a member of the Supreme Court from 1994 to 2009 and was the Parliamentary Inspector of the Corruption and Crime Commission from 2009 to 2012.
Susan Mary Kiefel is an Australian lawyer and barrister who was the 13th Chief Justice of Australia from 2017 to 2023. She concurrently served on the High Court of Australia from 2007 to 2023,previously being a judge of both the Supreme Court of Queensland and the Federal Court of Australia. Kiefel is the first woman to serve in the position of Chief Justice.
Peter David McClellan is a retired judge of the New South Wales Court of Appeal who served between February 2013 and February 2018. McClellan was the Chief Royal Commissioner of the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse from January 2013 to December 2017. He was previously the Chief Judge in Common Law in the Supreme Court,a position to which he was appointed in 2005.
Patrick Anthony Keane is an Australian judge currently serving as a non-permanent judge of the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal since 6 April 2023,after his retirement as a Justice of the High Court of Australia. He is currently the Chair of the Expert Advisory Group set up by the Australian Government to guide reforms to the Administrative Appeals Tribunal. Russell Wigton Skerman was a judge of the Supreme Court of Queensland from 1962 to 1973. Skerman was the Northern Judge based in Townsville,Northern Queensland from 1962 to 1970.
