John Longmuir is a Scottish-born Australian tenor. Known primarily for operatic roles, he is also in demand on the concert platform and has appeared as a judge on channel seven's music competition show 'All Together Now'. Noted for his "generous voice, bright ringing vocal quality and legato phrasing" [1] His operatic studies took place at the Australian Opera Studio. [2] In 2019 John received his first Helpmann Award nomination, for his role as the Captain, in Berg's Wozzeck, for Opera Australia.
Longmuir's professional concert debut was in Gabriel Fauré's La naissance de Venus at the Konzerthaus Berlin, with the Berliner Cappella. The same year he made his professional operatic debut, [3] in Tokyo, Japan, as Ismaele in Verdi's Nabucco .
The following year, he debuted for Opera Australia, at the Sydney Opera House as Almaviva in The Barber of Seville . This began his association with Opera Australia, first as a young artist, then as a principal. [4] Since joining the company, Longmuir has sung over 500 performances, across 30 roles.
Singing a wide range of repertoire, he appears frequently with Australia's major orchestras and arts companies, including: Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, West Australian Opera, State Opera of South Australia and Sydney Philharmonia.

A tenor is a type of male singing voice whose vocal range lies between the countertenor and baritone voice types. It is the highest male chest voice type. Composers typically write music for this voice in the range from the second B below middle C to the G above middle C (i.e. B2 to G4) in choral music, and from the second B flat below middle C to the C above middle C (B♭2 to C5) in operatic music, but the range can extend at either end. Subtypes of tenor include the leggero tenor, lyric tenor, spinto tenor, dramatic tenor, heldentenor, and tenor buffo or spieltenor.
The English Chamber Orchestra (ECO) is a British chamber orchestra based in London. The full orchestra regularly plays concerts at Cadogan Hall, and their ensemble performs at Wigmore Hall. With a limited performance size, the orchestra specializes in 18th-century music and was created to perform Baroque Music. Robert Breault is an American operatic tenor. Born in Michigan, he holds a B.M. degree from St. Norbert College (1985) from which he received a distinguished alumni award in 1997. In addition, he holds a M.M. (1987), and a D.M.A. (1991) from the University of Michigan where he studied voice with soprano Lorna Haywood. His early training also included two years of study at the San Francisco Merola Opera Program, and an internship with Michigan Opera Theatre. He lives in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he teaches voice and serves as director of opera at the University of Utah School of Music.
