<i>Journal of Regional Science</i>

The Journal of Regional Science is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by Wiley-Blackwell. Proceeded in the field of Regional Science only by Papers and Proceedings of the Regional Science Association, the JRS was established in 1958 and published by the now-defunct Regional Science Research Institute in Philadelphia. The current Managing Editors are Steven Brakman, N. Edward Coulson(University of California - Irvine), Alessandra Faggian, Yasusada Murata (Nihon University, and Siqi Zheng. Contributors hold positions in a variety of academic disciplines, but dominated by economics, geography, agricultural economics, rural sociology, urban and regional planning, and civil engineering. Articles are usually empirical, occasionally methodological or theoretical, but always quantitative.

Empirical legal studies (ELS) is an approach to the study of law, legal procedure, and legal theory through the use of empirical research. Empirical legal researchers use research techniques that are typical of economics, psychology, and sociology; however, ELS research tends to be more focused on purely legal questions than the related fields of law and economics, legal psychology, and sociology of law. ELS also tends to be more narrowly quantitative than fields such as law-and-society or new legal realism (NLR), which embrace qualitative and quantitative social science methods, as well as mixed method approaches.

<i>Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion</i> Academic journal of religious studies

The Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion (JSSR) is a quarterly peer-reviewed academic journal published by Wiley-Blackwell in the United States under the auspices of the Society for the Scientific Study of Religion, dedicated to publishing scholarly articles in the social sciences, including psychology, sociology, and anthropology, devoted to the study of religion. It is not a theology journal, as its publications tend to be empirical papers in the aforementioned disciplines, rather than papers assessing the truth or falsity, or otherwise attempting to clarify, theological doctrines. However, the eminent theologian Paul Tillich wrote a preface to the first edition, published in 1961. A former editor, Ralph W. Hood, is a major name in the psychology of religion, having published scales to assess religious experience and mystical experience. Hood was succeeded as editor in 1999 by Ted Jelen, the first ever political scientist to edit the journal. Jelen was later succeeded as editor by sociologist Rhys Williams. The current editor of the journal is Korie Little Edwards.
