Kaushal S. Inamdar (born 2 October 1971) is an Indian music composer and singer in Marathi and Hindi movies. His work in music spans from composing music for films, television, drama to events, concerts in Hindi and Marathi, composing music for ballets, advertisements, and also albums. He is currently settled at Goregaon, a Mumbai suburb.

Early life

Kaushal did his schooling from IES Modern English School, Dadar and Billimoria High School, Panchgani. Thereafter he graduated from the D. G. Ruparel College, Mumbai, where he came in contact with Chetan Datar who initiated him into theatre. While in school, he had taken some primary lessons from Kamalakar Bhagwat, a renowned music composer himself, but he began learning the finer nuances of music composition only after he finished graduation concentrated on writing and music. He did writing apprentice under Lekh Tandon and also had a short stint as a writer in television soaps. As he found himself more of a natural musician, he settled with music as his creative career. His Guru, Pt. Satyasheel Deshpande, an eminent Hindustani vocalist and musicologist is known for his insightful study of North Indian Classical music. [1]

Personal life

Kaushal is married to Suchitra Inamdar. She has a M.A. degree in psychology and works as a psychotherapist having her own practice in Malad West. [2] Kaushal and Suchitra have a son, Anurag Inamdar

Pandit Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi, also known by the honorific prefix Pandit, was one of the greatest Indian vocalists from Karnataka, in the Hindustani classical tradition. Five unique characters played in this drama To Me Navhech made him famous in Marathi Theater and Maharashtra. He also performed Aurangzeb's role in a popular play Ithe Oshalala Mrutyu based on the death of Sambhaji Raje Bhosale. He was also the owner of Natyasampada, a well-known Marathi drama production organization.

Hamsika Iyer is an Indian singer based in Mumbai. She is a regular voice with ad world jingles and Marathi tele-serials, and has sung songs in Kannada, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam and Bengali movies.

<i>Katyar Kaljat Ghusali</i> (film) 2015 Marathi film directed by Subodh Bhave

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a 2015 Indian Marathi-language epic musical drama film based on a play by the same name. Directed by Subodh Bhave, the film stars Sachin Pilgaonkar, Shankar Mahadevan, and Subodh Bhave in lead roles. The film marks the directorial debut for Bhave, and the theatrical acting debut for Shankar Mahadevan. The original play, written by Purushottam Darvhekar, premiered in 1967 in Mumbai, where Hindustani classical vocalist Vasantrao Deshpande played one of the protagonists. In 2010, the play was relaunched with protagonists essayed by Rahul Deshpande, grandson of Vasantrao Deshpande and singer Mahesh Kale. The film's music is composed by Shankar–Ehsaan–Loy, and retained some of the songs from the original play composed by Jitendra Abhisheki.

Katyar Kaljat Ghusali is a Marathi musical play, originally released in 1967. The play gained such popularity that more than 1,000 shows were staged in a very short period. The play was written by Purushottam Darvhekar. The story depicts clash of two gharanas (schools) of Indian classical music. Pt. Jeetendra Abhisheki composed the padas.

<i>Pyar Ki Dhun</i>

Pyar Ki Dhun is a 2002 Indian (Hindi) romantic drama film directed and produced by Samarjit Dasgupta. It was produced under the banner of Magic Mantra Visons. The film was shot extensively in London, England and partly in India, at Ranikhet (Uttaranchal) and Mumbai in 2001. The film stars Milind Soman, Swati and Hena in the main leads. Prem Chopra, Saeed Jaffrey, Satish Shah, Beena Banerjee, Rajeev Verma, Smita Jaykar, Nirmal Pandey besides others, form a stellar supporting cast. Lyrics by Javed Akhtar and music by debutant Shantanu Moitra. The film was released on 26 April 2002 in India.
