On June 10, 2024 Kevin Schnall was officially named Head Coach of Coastal Carolina. He is the sixth head coach in school history. [1] He is replacing Coastal's long time and winningest coach Gary Gilmore, who served as Head Coach of the Chanticleers for 29 seasons.
Kevin played Catcher for the Chanticleers from 1995 to 1999. He was the first player in program history to earn All-American honors as he made 2nd Team All-American from the NCBWA in 1999. He was drafted in the 25th round of the 1999 MLB Draft by the Cincinnati Reds. He would play two seasons in Cincinnati's farm system.

Cliff Ellis is an American former college basketball coach, who finished his career as the head coach at Coastal Carolina University. Ellis finished his career as the ninth winningest coach in NCAA Division I history.
Jason Robert Beverlin is an American baseball coach and former pitcher, who is the current pitching coach of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. He played college baseball at Western Carolina as well as in Major League Baseball (MLB) and Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB). He played one season in the United States and three seasons in Japan. He also served as the head coach of Bethune-Cookman Wildcats (2012–2017).
Tyler Beckham Thigpen is a former American football quarterback. Thigpen was drafted out of Coastal Carolina University in the seventh round of the 2007 NFL Draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers are the athletic teams that represent Coastal Carolina University. They participate in Division I of the NCAA as a member of the Sun Belt Conference (SBC) in most sports, having joined that conference as a full but non-football member on July 1, 2016. At that time, the football team began a transition from the second-level Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) to the top-level Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS). The team played the 2016 season as an FCS independent, joined SBC football for the 2017 season, and became full FBS members for 2018 and beyond. A Chanticleer is a proud and fierce rooster. Before joining the SBC, the Chanticleers had been members of the Big South Conference since that league's formation in 1983. Coastal fields varsity teams in 19 sports, 8 for men and 11 for women. The university regularly competed for the Sasser Cup, the Big South's trophy for the university with the best sports program among the member institutions, winning the trophy nine times, tied with rival Liberty University.
The Coastal Carolina Chanticleers baseball program has been the university's most consistent program in terms of success. Former Head Coach Gary Gilmore led the Chanticleers to 19 NCAA Regional appearances and three Super Regional appearances since being hired in 1996. The program has hosted a regional after being a #1 seed on six occasions. They have won 50+ games in 2005, 2007, 2008, 2010, and 2016. The program hosted a Super Regional in 2010 and won the 2016 College World Series.
The Liberty Flames football program represents Liberty University, a private Christian university located in Lynchburg, Virginia, in college football. The Flames compete in the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) as a member of Conference USA. The program, which previously competed in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS), announced it would start a transition to the top level of NCAA football in July 2017. The Flames became a provisional FBS member in 2018, and became a full FBS member with bowl eligibility in 2019. In 2020, Liberty entered the rankings in the AP Poll at 25 for the first time in program history.
The 2010 South Carolina Gamecocks baseball team represented the University of South Carolina in the 2010 NCAA Division I baseball season. The Gamecocks played their home games in Carolina Stadium. The team was coached by Ray Tanner, who was in his fourteenth season at Carolina.
Jamey Chadwell is an American college football coach and former player. He is the head football coach at Liberty University, a position he has held since the 2023 season. Chadwell served as the head football coach at North Greenville University from 2009 to 2011, Delta State University in 2012, Charleston Southern University from 2013 and 2016, and Coastal Carolina University, first in an interim capacity in 2017 and then on a permanent basis from 2019 to 2022.
Gary R. Gilmore is an American college baseball coach who is currently the head coach of the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers. He has held the position since the start of the 1996 season. Coastal Carolina has qualified for 17 NCAA tournaments, most recently in 2022. In 2016, the team made its first appearance in the College World Series and won the 2016 NCAA National Championship. He was elected to the ABCA Hall of Fame in 2022.
Lincoln "Link" Jarrett is an American college baseball coach and former shortstop, who is the current head coach of the Florida State Seminoles. Jarrett played college baseball at Florida State University from 1991 to 1994 for coach Mike Martin. He was the head coach at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro from 2013 to 2019 and University of Notre Dame from 2020 to 2022.

Bradley Andrew Goldberg is an American former professional baseball pitcher, and current bullpen coach for the Cleveland Guardians. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Chicago White Sox.
David Cochran Miller is an American college baseball coach and former first baseman who will be in his second tenure as head baseball coach of the La Salle Explorers staring in 2026. He previously served as the head coach for La Salle from 2018 until 2021 and the Penn State Abington Nittany Lions (2022). He then served as head coach at Manhattan from 2023–2024.
Grayson McCall is an American football quarterback for the NC State Wolfpack. He previously played for the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, where he was a three-time Sun Belt Player of the Year.
Zachary Michael Remillard is an American professional baseball infielder in the Chicago White Sox organization. He made his Major League Baseball (MLB) debut in 2023.
Chad Oxendine is an American baseball coach and former catcher who is the current the head baseball coach of the Longwood Lancers. He played college baseball at Coastal Carolina for head coach Gary Gilmore from 2001 to 2004.
Isaiah Likely is an American football tight end for the Baltimore Ravens of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at Coastal Carolina and was selected by the Ravens in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Jaivon Heiligh is an American professional Canadian football wide receiver who is currently a free agent. He played college football at Coastal Carolina. Heiligh signed with the Cincinnati Bengals as an undrafted free agent in 2022 but was released prior to the season.
