King Township is one of seventeen townships in Christian County, Illinois, USA. As of the 2020 census, its population was 198 and it contained 94 housing units. [1]
According to the 2010 census, the township has a total area of 36.66 square miles (94.9 km2), all land. [2]
The township contains these two cemeteries: Harvel and Morrisonville.
As of the 2020 census [1] there were 198 people, 86 households, and 67 families residing in the township. The population density was 5.40 inhabitants per square mile (2.08/km2). There were 94 housing units at an average density of 2.56 per square mile (0.99/km2). The racial makeup of the township was 92.93% White, 0.51% African American, 0.00% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 1.52% from other races, and 5.05% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.51% of the population.
There were 86 households, out of which 25.60% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.12% were married couples living together, 12.79% had a female householder with no spouse present, and 22.09% were non-families. 18.60% of all households were made up of individuals, and none had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.41 and the average family size was 2.76.
